Indiana Hoosiers All-Decade Team (2010-2019)

Indiana Hoosiers All-Decade Team (2010-2019)

As the decade closes out and we ring in a new year in just a few hours, I have put together my All-Decade team for the Indiana Hoosiers. This is just my opinion and I encourage discussion. The 2010’s were an up and down time for the Hoosiers as three head coaches spent time leading IUFB. The Hoosiers have had success though and some may call it the most successful decade since the 1980’s or 1990’s for the Hoosier football program. Indiana’s team won 49 games over the ten years, including six wins against Purdue (the first winning decade against the Boilermakers since the 1940’s) and qualified for three bowl games.

2019 Pro Day Preview: Safety Jonathan Crawford

2019 Pro Day Preview: Safety Jonathan Crawford

Written by Evan McShane (@veryreasonable)

Jonathan Crawford is the very definition of an iron man. Crawford started in every single game of his college career. All 50 of them. Only a dozen other players have accomplished such a feat in Indiana history. Coming to Bloomington from Largo High School in Florida, Crawford made a lasting impact on the Indiana football program. Crawford proved right away that he was going to be a great safety. As a freshman, he racked up 76 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and four interceptions – the third most for a true freshman in school history.

Jonathan Crawford was a Staple on Defense, Now it's up to "Everybody in the Room" to Replace Him

When the Indiana defense peers into its 2019 defensive secondary, a significant hole will be visible. That hole is named Jonathan Crawford.

275 tackles, 182 solo, 9 interceptions, 19 total takeaways. Just the 12th player in Big Ten history to start 50 games, every game in his career. Crawford has truly been a staple of the Indiana defense the past four years. He is now moved on to tackling the goal of making an NFL roster, and for the 2019 Hoosiers, this leaves the task of replacing his production.

Hoosiers Look to Rally After Player-Led Meeting Sends a Clear Message

Written By Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The Indiana Hoosiers football team held a player-led meeting on Monday morning prior to practice just a few days after their 42-16 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Seniors Wes Martin and Jacob Robinson led the way asking Allen after the game Saturday if they can speak to the team, but opened it to all the seniors. Their message was clear, the season isn’t over and we’ve reached a turning point.

“This is the kind of the point of the season, and every season has a point” Robinson said Tuesday, “you can either continue to rise and keep getting better or you can stay the same. We addressed that and just how this is the point of the season where we need to stick together, trust what we do and trust what the coaches are having us do and just continue to work really hard.”
