Indiana Hoosiers All-Decade Team (2010-2019)

As the decade closes out and we ring in a new year in just a few hours, I have put together my All-Decade team for the Indiana Hoosiers. This is just my opinion and I encourage discussion. The 2010’s were an up and down time for the Hoosiers as three head coaches spent time leading IUFB. The Hoosiers have had success though and some may call it the most successful decade since the 1980’s or 1990’s for the Hoosier football program. Indiana’s team won 49 games over the ten years, including six wins against Purdue (the first winning decade against the Boilermakers since the 1940’s) and qualified for three bowl games.

Redshirt Preview: LB Reakwon Jones

6’2”/218 lbs/LB Lynn Haven, FL

Reakwon Jones was recruited to Indiana as part of the 2015 signing class as a three-star inside linebacker from Lynn Haven, Fla. He was a first team Class 5A All-State selection and won the Bay County Defensive Player of the Year when he recorded 124 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, along with two interceptions and six forced fumbles during his senior season in 2014. He led A. Crawford Mosley H.S. to its first postseason appearance since 2006. Last season Jones garnered plenty of praise on the scout team defense winning Scout Team Player of the Week six times.

Before the Hoosiers defense even took the field they were facing an uphill battle.

Prior to kickoff the team announced that multiple players were suspended for the game for not living up to program responsibilities. Among them were starting defensive tackle Darius Latham, starting inside linebacker Tegray Scales, second-string defensive tackle Ralph Green and backup bandit linebacker Greg Gooch. To make matters worse, the team was also without starting safety Chase Dutra due to an undisclosed injury.
