As the decade closes out and we ring in a new year in just a few hours, I have put together my All-Decade team for the Indiana Hoosiers. This is just my opinion and I encourage discussion. The 2010’s were an up and down time for the Hoosiers as three head coaches spent time leading IUFB. The Hoosiers have had success though and some may call it the most successful decade since the 1980’s or 1990’s for the Hoosier football program. Indiana’s team won 49 games over the ten years, including six wins against Purdue (the first winning decade against the Boilermakers since the 1940’s) and qualified for three bowl games.

While the Hoosiers defense continues to be a work in progress, as evidenced by team turning to its third defensive coordinator in four seasons, there have still been plenty of notable players to see action on that side of the ball. Again, this list only includes players that were recruited by Coach Wilson, both scholarship and walk-ons are eligible. They were aggressive and energetic in an effort that saw the unit rack up 11 tackles for loss. Saturday’s matchup pits the IU defense against an offense that is very similar to Missouri. In today’s College football it is important for a great defense to have a great defensive backfield. The 2013 Indiana Defense was led by returning defensive standouts Mike Hunter and Tim Bennett in the defensive backfield. With a stacked defensive line, the DB’s should have plenty of opportunity to make plays in 2014.
