The Indiana football home opener was supposed to be this Saturday, September 12th, against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Since the game was cancelled and the subsequent game against Penn State was postponed we will take a look back at some of the biggest individual performances from IU football against the Hilltoppers.

1. Nate Sudfeld, QB, 2015- Sudfeld helped carry the offense through the air in a 38-35 win over Western Kentucky en route to the Pinstripe Bowl. Sudfeld completed 20-of-27 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns. He also added eight yards rushing.

2. Kellen Lewis, QB, 2008- Lewis put the Hoosiers on his back in a 31-13 win over the Hilltoppers in 2008 as he accounted for 329 total yards (185 rushing 144 passing) and four touchdowns. The Hoosiers would finish a disappointing 3-9 in 2008 and Lewis would be limited most of the season by injuries.

3. Jordan Howard, RB, 2015- Jordan Howard rumbled his way to 203 yards rushing on 31 carries. He was an unstoppable force in 2015 against WKU. While he didn’t find the end zone, his legs helped put the game away.

4. Ben Chappell, QB, 2010- Ben Chappell lit up the Hilltoppers in 2010 when the Hoosiers traveled to Bowling Green, KY and won 38-21. He completed 32-of-42 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns. The Hoosiers would finish 5-7 in 2010 and see then head coach Bill Lynch let go at the end of the season.

5. Jonathan Crawford, Safety, 2015- Crawford was an instant impact freshman out of Largo, Florida in 2015 and he had his breakout game against WKU. His two interceptions helped turn the tides in a game where IU was desperate for stops. He also finished with four tackles.
