Indiana defensive lineman Marcus Burris was a four-star prospect coming out of Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas and signed with Texas A&M. He spent two seasons and played eight games with the Aggies before transferring to Indiana.

The Indiana Hoosiers will face a familiar offensive scheme on Saturday when they take on Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals. The scheme utilizes speed to attack the edges of the defense. The Hoosier edge players, that includes Bulls Myles Jackson, Lanell Carr and cornerbacks Nic Toomer, Louis Moore and Kobee Minor as well as others need to be able to set the edge of the IU defense.

The Hoosiers trotted out nine new starters last weekend in their 23-3 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The defense managed to hold last year’s second ranked scoring offense in the country to 10 points at the half, thanks in part to big plays from new faces.

College football is back. The time has come for magazine talk and fall camp to end. With that, players will no longer be obliged to only see their teammates on the other side of the ball. On Saturday, IU defensive backs will be greeted with a surplus of former five-star receivers, including the 2023 Biletnikoff front-runner Marvin Harrison Jr.

Welcome to the annual Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff for Indiana football. The Hoosiers are coming off a 4-8 (2-6) season that saw some improvements but was ultimately disappointing. 2023 brings in many new faces on the field as well as on the sidelines for the Hoosiers as IU tries to get back to a bowl game for the first time since 2020. While there may not be a ton of momentum on the field for IU, there is reason for excitement as the season draws closer. These are some of the things to look forward to this season.

The Indiana Hoosiers hit the indoor field at the Mellencamp Pavilion on Tuesday for spring practice number two. There has been plenty of turnover for the Hoosiers both on the field and in the coaching staff. Head coach Tom Allen has brought in three new on field coaches this season so this spring is seeing how the new coaches are becoming entrenched in the program.

No Bull - IU needs to improve its pass rush. While Indiana has had good, and even great, defenses since Tom Allen has been at Indiana, the consistent knock on his defenses has been pass rush - especially without blitzing. Last season, Indiana was 102nd in the country with 20.0 total sacks, ranking just behind UAB and just ahead of Akron.

The Indiana Hoosiers will open their spring football practice on March 4th and hold 15 practices before the spring season concludes with their Spring Football Event on April 15th in Memorial Stadium.
