Mendoza is luckier than other transfers though because his brother, Alberto, already has a year of experience with Curt Cignetti. The Hoosiers will have some new faces in impact positions on special teams. IU loses punters James Evans and Alejandro Quintero. They will have to replace kickoff specialist Derrick McCormick as well as backup long snapper Jaxson Miller. The Hoosiers also lost two impact players in the punt return department in Myles Price and Keshawn Williams, both who helped IU win conference games this season with a big return.

2024 was a milestone and memorable season for the Indiana Hoosiers. Curt Cignetti’s first season in Bloomington resulted in a stunning 11-1 regular season record with the lone loss coming in Columbus against eventual National Champion Ohio State. Indiana made the College Football Playoff and battled Notre Dame before falling in South Bend and ending the season at 11-2. It was a school record for wins, and Curt Cignetti was honored as the National Coach of the Year. As IU begins preparations for the 2025 campaign, there is an unprecedented amount of attention on the program. Hoosier Huddle is gearing up for the spring with individual position group previews. Aiden Fisher Serves as a Mentor For the Incoming Linebackers

By now, you probably know who Aiden Fisher is. The All-American linebacker had a colossal year leading the Hoosiers defense which was considered one of the best defenses in the country in 2024. Last season, Fisher had 118 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He was a great leader for the entire defense and now that he decided to return, he will be looked at to lead the team once again. But this is a very different team from previous years. With the amount of success the Hoosiers achieved last season, some of the young guys needed a reality check when they first arrived in Bloomington.
