2022 Spring IUFB Position Battles- Wide Receiver

2022 Spring IUFB Position Battles- Wide Receiver

Written by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The Indiana Hoosiers have started their spring practice session and one of the biggest questions facing the team is who will step up at the wide receiver position. IU had plenty of turnover at the position and now will be looking for a new wide receiver coach after Grant Heard bailed for UCF just days before spring practice started in Bloomington. The Hoosiers leading returning receiver is D.J. Matthews, but after losing Ty Fryfogle to the NFL Draft and Miles Marshall, Camron Buckley and Jordyn Williams among others to the transfer portal, it is time to see who can make their mark in spring practice and get a leg up on the competition for the starting spots this fall.

The list goes on and on and I am sure I left out a bunch of names, but the bottom line is, Indiana has a good history of producing wide receivers. Incoming freshman Jaquez Smith is working hard to make sure he can make an impact on the Hoosiers wide receiver room over the next few years.
