Saturday was a great win for the Indiana football program. A building block that the fan base can stand on for at least a week, but the Hoosier must continue to build off of this win. In this edition of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, trust me it will be mostly good, we will touch upon the things the Hoosiers did really well and what needs to be fixed going forward.

What a difference a week makes. The Hoosiers came out with the fight and effort they needed to pull off the upset of the 18th ranked Missouri Tigers 31-27. The Hoosiers were in control most of the game and headed into half time tied at 17. The Hoosiers took a 24-17 lead into the fourth quarter, but after Missouri tied things up with 13:20 left in the game it looked as if the Hoosiers may lose another heartbreaker. Missouri took a 27-24 lead with 2:20 left in the game on a 40-yard field goal. This is exactly what the Hoosiers wanted though, the ball in the hands of the offense with a change to win the game. Indiana drove 75 yards capped off with a leaping touchdown from D’Angelo Roberts.

It was a tale of two halves for the IU defense against Bowling Green. The first half was filled with energy and players flying around, while the second half was a throw back tribute to the styles of the Doug Mallory coached defense. If the Hoosiers are going to pull the upset at Missouri the defense will need to follow these three keys to victory.

On Saturday the Indiana Hoosiers will try and do something they have not done since 2004 when they travel to Missouri to face the Tigers, and that is beat a ranked team on the road. Missouri is the defending SEC champion and have started the 2014 season 3-0 with wins over South Dakota State, Toledo, and Central Florida. The Indiana Hoosiers head into Missouri to face the number 18 team in the nation with a fan base that has been grumbling, a defense that is licking their wounds, and a special teams unit that has issues kicking the ball.
