The Indiana Hoosier secondary took a hit on Monday as projected starting cornerback redshirt senior Kobee Minor entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. Minor’s brother Darryl, a linebacker, entered the portal earlier this month.

We’ll get our first look at first-year head coach Curt Cignetti’s progress with the team this week as Indiana football officially kicks off their spring game Thursday night at 8pm inside Memorial Stadium. The spring game will mark the end of the spring practice session which lasted roughly a month.

The Indiana Hoosiers close out the 2023 season with the Old Oaken Bucket game against Purdue. While both teams enter at 3-8, this is still a heat rivalry. The Hoosiers enter as a slight underdog, however if they want to end the season on a high note and claim the Bucket, they will need to improve in defending the pass after being gashed the last two weeks. This week’s matchup to watch is Indiana’s secondary against Purdue’s passing game.

Kobee Minor, one of the veterans in the cornerback room, was one of three players to answer questions from the media after Thursday’s spring practice. He expressed to the media how he bet on himself after which in large part is due to coach Brandon Shelby. Also, he acknowledged how good it is to play alongside his brother Darryl Minor.

Kobee Minor, a hard-hitting safety, committed to the Hoosiers after spending the past two seasons with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. During his time with the Red Raiders, Minor earned the respect of his team. He earned the right through his hard work and dedication to represent the Red Raiders-by wearing number three- a highly coveted number for the program.
