I can’t believe I have to say this, but no, IU will not be sitting their star QB for their top-5 matchup against Ohio State this Saturday. Yet this was ESPN pundit Joey Galloway’s take on Tuesday’s CFP show. Galloway said, “If I’m Indiana, I don’t know if I’m playing Rourke against Ohio State…What could keep Indiana out of this? Getting their quarterback hurt.” At the same time that Galloway was floating this contender for worst take of the year, Kurtis Rourke was speaking to the media in Bloomington, excited at the opportunity of a top-5 matchup.

Aiden Fisher has been dominating on the field this season and loves everything about it. During IU’s last game against Michigan, the offense was struggling in the second half, but when they needed the defense to bring the intensity, they brought it. Aiden Fisher has been a key leader for the defense all season and played amazingly when the team needed him most, getting in on 14 tackles against the Wolverines.

The Indiana Hoosiers 10-0 (7-0) enjoyed a bye week last week and had a chance to see where things fell from the comfort of the couch. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers were ranked 5th in the third edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. IU was ranked 5th by the AP and 5th in the Coaches Polls on Sunday.

The 2024 college football season has been a crazy one to say the least, but one of the most astounding teams this season are the Indiana Hoosiers. With the regular season coming to a close, the Hoosiers have two games remaining on their schedule. After facing a challenging opponent in the defending National Champions, Indiana was met with a much-needed bye week to address their offensive struggles. Now, the 10-0 Hoosiers are preparing to face a championship caliber team this Saturday in Columbus.

You often hear in football that certain coaches are just harder to go up against after they have had a bye week. Whether it is getting their guys extra rest, having more time to scout the opponent, or adding new tricks to their own playbook, some coaches just seem to have an advantage when given extra time to prepare. Nick Saban was a common example of this theory; back in the BCS days, when given so much time to prepare between the conference championship and national championship games, he simply was more difficult to go up against after all the extra time to prepare.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University and IU Head Football Coach Curt Cignetti have agreed to terms on a new eight-year contract with an average annual compensation of $8 million, as well as an additional annual $1 million retention bonus. Cignetti’s new contract runs thru Nov. 30, 2032.
