2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 5 Days (Kobee Minor)

Welcome, Hoosiers fans to the 2023 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! We countdown from 100 days to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season on September 2nd against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Every day, we look at players on the current roster and highlight the players' roles in the upcoming season. Today we dive into Texas Tech transfer Kobee Minor.

Name: Kobee Minor

Hometown: Corinth, Texas (Lake Dallas)

Position: Cornerback

Year: Redshirt Junior

A tall lengthy corner from outside Dallas, Texas Minor signed with the Red Raiders out of High School. He was with the program for three years before entering his name in the transfer portal this off-season. Last season, Minor appeaerd in 12 games, tallying 12 tackles and two pass breakups. The 2021 season he made appearances in 10 games mostly on special teams.

Minor received interest from CAL, Houston, and Kanas out of High School. He was the No.74 ranked safety according to ESPN and three-star recruit. He earned All-Purpose Most Valuable Player for District 7-5A as a Senior.

Minor bet on himself transferring to Bloomington and adds a veteran presence at the cornerback postion. A large part in him transferring to the Hooiser is in part to Brandon Shelby along with having the chance to play alongside his brother Darryl Minor. Kobee Minor Adds Veteran Presence at Corner

Minor acknowledged during spring ball that he needs to adapt to a more pro style type of play in the Big Ten compared to a more air raid in the Big 12.  He will compete with Stanford transfer Nicolas Toomer for the cornerback job.
