Changes are Abundant for the Hoosiers in 2014

The 2014 Indiana Hoosier football team will have to deal with many new faces and changes. There will be new coaches on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball as well as a new direction on special teams.  All this will surely bring about new challenges and hopefully much success. While personnel changes on the coaching staff will be a focus for Hoosier head coach Kevin Wilson, the largest focus for the Hoosiers will be adjustments on the field.

3 & Out Defense: Week 12 Wisconsin Badgers

3 & Out Defense: Week 12 Wisconsin Badgers

The Wisconsin Badgers offense is pretty straightforward, hand the ball off to James White and Melvin Gordon and sprinkle in a few play action passes.  That does not mean it is easy to stop.  Wisconsin has put up some gaudy numbers against the Hoosiers the last three years (83,55, and 63).  Could we see a repeat of the defensive performance against Navy? Maybe, probably, but Indiana does not have to be perfect on defense to win this game.  They just have to be not terrible.  Let’s get down to the three keys for the Hoosier defense for the Hoosiers to pull off the upset on Saturday.

Welcome back to the 2013 Preview Series, where we will take a look at the top 5 Hoosier defenders.  The defense seems to be the key to success for the Indiana football team for the last 15 years and each year the defense seemingly fails to step up and be at the very least mediocre.  2013 is going to be no different.  In order for this Hoosier team to live up to its potential the defensive unit must show some improvement upon a dismal 2012 campaign where Indiana gave up 35.2 points per game.  With the recent news of an injury to starting linebacker Chase Hoobler and the dismissal of Antonio Marshall, a corner who made some plays late in the season in 2012, in addition to the graduation of their two best defensive players, the job becomes that much harder.  Despite all of this the Hoosiers do have some talent returning on the defensive side of the ball, here are the top 5 defensive players for your 2013 Indiana Hoosier football team.
