When the Hoosiers take the field for the annual Cream and Crimson Game on Saturday (Closed to the Public) in the John Mellencamp Pavilion the Hoosiers have stars to replace on defense. Gone are eight starters from a year ago (Chris Covington, Chase Dutra, Rashard Fant, Tony Fields, Greg Gooch, Nate Hoff, Robert McCray and Tegray Scales) and the young Hoosier defenders will have a chance to make their claim on playing in the fall in the final practice of the spring.

Heading into the Spring Game, All Eyes Will Be on the Hoosier Offensive Backfield

After months of anticipation spent waiting for spring camp, it has already come and gone. The annual Cream and Crimson Spring Game is this Saturday at noon in Memorial Stadium (weather permitting), and is free to all fans. While the game is an exciting event for players and fans alike, it unfortunately means there won’t be any more football until the incoming freshmen arrive on campus this summer. My advice would be to make it out to the field this Saturday to take in some great football and watch for some of the things on offense that I’ll be looking for on Saturday as well.

Hoosiers Put on Shoulder Pads for the First Time this Spring

Written By Alex Compton

A brisk, windy, Tuesday morning marked the third day of spring ball for the Hoosiers as they look to improve across the board and get some new guys more comfortable in their roles. The guys broke out the pads and did some light offense/ defense situational work, as the anticipation builds for the first day of full pads this season. As a talented class of seniors departs from Bloomington in the coming months, some new faces have started to emerge and fill any leadership voids that may have opened up. Tom Allen’s family-first culture seems firmly implemented at this point, and the guys have responded well to the challenge from each other and seem to thoroughly enjoy practice.

Football is returning to Bloomington.

Indiana kicks off its spring practice on Saturday, as it prepares for the 2018 season following a 5-7 (2-7) campaign last fall, coming just one win shy of a third consecutive bowl appearance.

The Hoosiers lose a plethora of talent from its 2017 squad, primarily on the defensive side of the football. As head coach Tom Allen enters his second spring practice, he'll be coaching an IU team with a little more youth and inexperience than he's had in two seasons (one as defensive coordinator) with the program.

With offseason football right around the corner for the Hoosiers, here are five things to watch heading into spring practice.

Five Questions We Want Answered In The Spring Game

Five Questions We Want Answered In The Spring Game

Fresh off of an appearance in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the pressure is on this year’s group of Hoosiers to get back to the postseason. With plenty of departures from last year and new additions this season, it will take some time before we really get a feel for what this team will look like. While it is important to remember that a spring game is essentially a practice, we will be watching closely to see if we can get answers to some of the biggest questions that remain heading into the 2016-17 campaign.
