Weekly Recruiting Roundup 5-23-15

With summer camps just on the horizon the Hoosiers coaching staff continued to target prospects outside of the midwest, as these athletes are less likely to make it to Bloomington in the coming weeks. Once again it looks like the Hoosiers have prioritized the defensive side of the ball, extending offers to players at all three levels. The team is also making an effort to create inroads with the upcoming classes of 2017 and '18. Former 2013 wide receiver commit Taj Williams announced that he would be making a trip to Hoosier Nation this summer, giving Indiana hope that they can get this talented pass catcher to Bloomington. Weekly Recruiting Roundup 5-15-15

It was another incredibly busy week in recruiting as the Hoosiers extended offers to multiple members of the 2016 class and even a couple of 2017 and 2018 prospects. The majority of Indiana's new offer recepients were on the defensive side of the ball, specifically on the line and the secondary, an area of emphasis during this recruiting cycle. It has been an incredibly busy week for Coach Wilson and his staff, racking up the frequent flyer miles as they travel all over the country identifying and evaluating talented athletes, searching for the team's next "Boom." The Hoosiers were particularly active in SEC country, extending multiple offers in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Texas. The team did not stop there, however, offering prospects in conference opponents' backyards.

The Hoosiers 2016 recruiting class is now off and running with the commitment of Ohio quarterback Peyton Ramsey. His announcement came on Tuesday night via twitter, just moments before I posted my article meant to reassure fans that the slow start in recruiting was no cause for worry. The Hoosiers also appear to be in good shape with Ohio's Chawntez Moss and Missouri's Roderick Campbell Jr. Indiana also extended offers this week to defensive ends Michael Boykin and AJ Epenesa. The Hoosiers hosted two talented running back prospects on Thursday night, 2016's Kiante Enis and 2017's Kurt Taylor.
