With summer camps just on the horizon the Hoosiers coaching staff continued to target prospects outside of the midwest, as these athletes are less likely to make it to Bloomington in the coming weeks. Once again it looks like the Hoosiers have prioritized the defensive side of the ball, extending offers to players at all three levels. The team is also making an effort to create inroads with the upcoming classes of 2017 and '18. Former 2013 wide receiver commit Taj Williams announced that he would be making a trip to Hoosier Nation this summer, giving Indiana hope that they can get this talented pass catcher to Bloomington. It was another incredibly busy week in recruiting as the Hoosiers extended offers to multiple members of the 2016 class and even a couple of 2017 and 2018 prospects. The majority of Indiana's new offer recepients were on the defensive side of the ball, specifically on the line and the secondary, an area of emphasis during this recruiting cycle. In our third Prospects Big Board we will take a look at wide receivers. The Hoosiers added five pass catchers in this last class and enter next season with zero scholarship seniors at the position, so it remains to be seen how many they might look to add in this upcoming cycle. Much like running back, the Hoosiers can leverage the fact that the team has been able to get players at the position in the NFL, like Denver's Cody Latimer. So which potential route-runners could decide that Bloomington is the best place for them to continue their playing careers?

Black Thursday: Hoosiers Lose Starting CB and Two Recruits

Thursday was a tumultuous day for coach Kevin Wilson and the Hoosier football program to say the very least. It wasn’t just one problem that the program encountered, as bad news seemingly came in all day.

In the afternoon the program announced that cornerback Antonio Marshall had been dismissed from the team for an “undisclosed violation of team rules.” Marshall was one of the few experienced bright spots returning for Indiana on the defensive side of the football in 2013. The corner started the last seven games of last season, while hauling in two interceptions. He was an obvious starter heading into his senior season. While the program has promising talent waiting in the wings in the secondary, they are losing a player who brings experience off a defense that was the worst in the Big Ten last year. This was not what defensive coordinator Doug Mallory had in mind as an exciting start to camp.
