The Indiana Hoosiers received reinforcements for the secondary on Wednesday evening as former Arizona Wildcat DJ Warnell Jr. committed to play the 2024 season for head coach Curt Cignetti. He played the nickel corner position at Arizona. Prior to playing for the Wildcats Warnell played two seasons at UCLA.

After a successful spring practice period, the Indiana Hoosiers turned to the spring transfer portal window in an effort to plug a few holes on the roster. Specifically, IU needs to add depth along the interior of the defensive line. That is a common issue as defensive tackles appear to be the most in-demand position during this portal window with several marquee programs on the hunt for big men capable of giving productive snaps. Curt Cignetti and his staff turned to their past to help address the defensive tackle depth, gaining a commitment from former James Madison lineman Tyrique Tucker.
