Just hours after the 2022 NFL Draft ended on Saturday evening, four former Indiana football players signed undrafted free agent deals with teams around the league. The most recent success story from an undrafted free agent out of IU is Nick Westbrook-Ikhine who has played in 30 games with eight starts with the Tennessee Titans. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and redshirt junior quarterback Michael Penix Jr. earned spots on the watch list for the 85th Maxwell Award powered by Mammoth Tech, presented annually to the outstanding player in college football, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Monday morning. Penix is on the list for the second time in as many years.

The Indiana football program held their annual awards banquet on Thursday night to commemorate the 2020 season in which the Hoosiers finished 12th in the AP Poll with a record of 6-2. Tom Allen gave out 19 awards to 26 different players. The ceremony was also highlighted by the inaugural Chris Beaty Award, an award given in honor of Chris Beaty, a former Hoosier football player who walked on to the team and was killed last summer trying to thwart a robbery.
