Game Day Primer: Indiana Hoosiers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Written By T.J. Inman (@TJHoosierHuddle)

What: Nebraska Cornhuskers at Indiana Hoosiers

When: Saturday, October 15 at 3:30 PM

Where: Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN

How to Watch: The game will be broadcast on ABC. You can listen to the audio broadcast on the IU Radio Network.

What’s at Stake: There is so much at stake this Saturday. The two teams are meeting for the first time since 1978. The Cornhuskers are in the top ten and looking to keep their unbeaten record and avoid a damaging loss in their quest for their first Big Ten West division title. The Indiana Hoosiers are hoping to beat their second ranked team of the season (something that hasn’t happened since 2003), beat a top ten for the first time since 1967 and beat a top ten team at home for the first time since 1950. Most importantly though, the Hoosiers are hoping to maintain the momentum gained from a win over Michigan State and a good performance at Ohio State. A victory here would vault them to 4-2 and give them an excellent chance at returning to a bowl game for the second straight season.

Special Note: BTN Tailgate will be broadcasting live from Bloomington this Saturday! BTN Tailgate is the network’s new pregame show that will originate from a different Big Ten campus each week during conference play. The show will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the south side of the Mellencamp Pavilion and will run until noon. Dave Revsine, former IU coach Gerry DiNardo and former NFL player Anthony Adams will be hosting.

Weekly Recruiting Roundup 5-23-15

With summer camps just on the horizon the Hoosiers coaching staff continued to target prospects outside of the midwest, as these athletes are less likely to make it to Bloomington in the coming weeks. Once again it looks like the Hoosiers have prioritized the defensive side of the ball, extending offers to players at all three levels. The team is also making an effort to create inroads with the upcoming classes of 2017 and '18. Former 2013 wide receiver commit Taj Williams announced that he would be making a trip to Hoosier Nation this summer, giving Indiana hope that they can get this talented pass catcher to Bloomington. College football is currently in the midst of its spring evaluation period, April 15th to May 31st, an opportunity for coaches to go watch athletes compete, visits their high schools, and contact the athlete and their parents via letter or telephone. While Indiana did not pick up any new commits, there was not shortage of recruiting news this week as Wilson and his staff extended multiple offers this week to recruits of the 2016 and '17 classes. Among those were at least three athletes from the Lone Star State, including Paddy Fisher, Brayden Stringer, and Taylor Perry. This past week also saw the commitment of some Hoosier targets to conference rivals. Those corresponding tweets and more are below.

We are just a few days away from finding out where the Hoosiers single-season rushing record holder Tevin Coleman will continue his football career. His outstanding performance in 2014 served not only to raise his draft stock, but has been a great selling-point to running back prospects across the country for the Hoosiers coaching staff. So which 2016 running back(s) could pick Indiana as their future college destination?
