2014: A Season at a Crossroads

2014: A Season at a Crossroads

The Indiana Hoosiers enter 2014 at a crossroad. IU has increased their win total in each of head coach Kevin Wilson’s years on the sidelines, and he has brought in the two best recruiting classes in Hoosier football history, yet he has only won 10 games in his tenure. The next step for this program has to be a sixth win and a bowl game, however this is a much different team than the one that went 5-7 (3-5).

Coach Kevin Wilson had the choice made for him after both Cam Coffman (winter) and Tre Roberson (summer) transferred from the program. In Year Four It Is Time For The Next Step

Expectations can be a funny thing.  They can either ignite a fire under a fan base or drive them away like a plague.  This will be a very different Indiana football team that takes the field on August 30th against Indiana State.  Gone are both coordinators.  Defensive boss Doug Mallory was fired in January and replaced with Brian Knorr, while offensive Coordinator Seth Littrel left Bloomington for Chapel Hill.  The offense should not look too different scheme wise as Kevin Wilson promoted from within as Kevin Johns now takes the reigns.  However the Hoosiers lose a multitude of talent as they lose four 1,000-yard receivers in Kofi Hughes, Cody Latimer, Duwyce Wilson, and Ted Bolser and their second string running back in Stephen Houston.
