The All-Kevin Wilson Team After Five Years at Indiana: Part I

The Hoosiers are now entering year six of the Kevin Wilson regime, giving us five years to look back on in review. But instead of looking at the collective effort of his teams, which we and everyone else has done ad nauseam, let’s take a closer look at some of the best players that Coach Wilson has had under his tutelage during that half-decade. It’s quite clear that his Indiana teams are as talented as any that we have seen in recent history, so we decided to put together the fifth anniversary All-Kevin Wilson team. This list only includes players that were recruited by Coach Wilson, both scholarship and walk-ons are eligible.

2016 NFL Draft Recap: Where Did Former Hoosiers Land?

As the 2016 NFL Draft comes to a close, Hoosier Nation could not be more proud with the results. With three players drafted by NFL teams, this marks the most drafted players since 2010. So far, four more players have received contracts as undrafted free agents, making for a total of seven IU football players that will appear in NFL mini camps this year.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eighteen Indiana football student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. IU has set a program mark with 111 award winners in head coach Kevin Wilson’s five seasons.

Location: Saturday November 14th /3:37pm/ Memorial Stadium/ (Bloomington, IN)

Why They Played: Michigan and Indiana meet annually in an East Division matchup. This was the first time the Wolverines had been in Bloomington since 2010.

What The Game Meant:

Saturday was Senior Day for the Hoosiers, which is always a big day. The Hoosiers were looking for their first Big Ten win, while the Wolverines were attempting to keep pace with Ohio State and Michigan State in the Big Ten East race.

2015 Positional Preview: Offensive Line

It’s not really a surprise when I say that the offensive line will be a strength for the Hoosiers, as it has been for the last three seasons. Coach Frey has done a masterful job of molding and making these young men into a formidable force, capable of taking on any defensive front they come up against in the trenches. When injuries attempted to threaten the depth of the group, it was just a case of next man up, the unit barely missing a beat. For the last three seasons the Hoosiers have set numerous offensive records and the guys upfront have been a big reason for that. Whether it was protecting one of the team’s prolific passers or opening up holes for Tevin Coleman, these guys have done it all and at a high level.

While the team did bid farewell to some talented contributors up front, including senior Ralston Evans, whose career was short due to injuries, the 2015 iteration of the Indiana offensive line has the potential to be the best yet.

Pretty certain that Jon Bon Jovi did not have our countdown in mind when he wrote and performed, "Livin' on a Prayer," but this song could not be anymore fitting, not only because it's played at nearly every Indiana Football game, but also because "Whoa, we're half way there." That's right, we have reached the midway point in our countdown, 50 days left until Coach Wilson and the Cream and Crimson take the gridiron in a clash with the Southern Illinois Salukis. Pigskins, popcorn, and the return of Indiana's potent offense draws nearer. Today we take a look at a senior member of the Hoosiers offensive line, Jake Reed.
