We have no idea how many evaded. You know that. But even if we look at worst case numbers, the population of undocumented immigrants in the US right now is only slightly higher than it was in 2019.

Center for Migration studies says 1.6M. I'm not disagreeing it went up. But it was still well within the historical up-and-down variation. It grew more under Bush than any other recent president, for example, and has stayed mostly the same since, decreasing under Obama and Trump, then increasing again under Biden. But still below the peak at the end of the Bush years.

Oh, if you want to argue politics, I agree Biden fucked this one up. No question about that. Trump ran with the invasion nonsense, and Biden did everything he could to back up Trump's claims. I'm just saying, in real life, migration under Biden wasn't historically out of the norm. Like I said, the population increased by more and faster under Bush.

@gros-louis oh yeah they have zero interest going back. Our progressive bs is only worse there. Immigration. Crime. You can still live on a modest income throughout the SE with better weather, opportunities for start ups, on and on.
