Looking at what Trump is doing to the east wing I would say it was long overdue. Whole place is honestly dated and ugly. It’s probably a tear down. Would love to see him just build something new. Contemporary. Lots of stone. Cement. Glass. Etc.

Maybe a future president decides that painting the Lincoln Memorial pink and orange is an "improvement". Would you want that? It's why there is an office to protect historic landmarks. One that shouldn't be headed by a yes man for the President.

Really? That's happening at IU? Yes, there are morons who bitch about all the money spent on athletics who don't understand how the AD is financed vs. other university funding, but I'm not sure about it being a function of any enmity towards Whitten.
Maybe ten or so years ago, BHS built a big fancy new entrance with an atrium and lots of extras, and people went nuts because at the same time they were fighting raises for teachers and all that kind of stuff. No matter how much the school board and administration tried to explain, the morons didn't understand how the state requires separate funding for capital improvements and general operating, and that by law the money in the capital improvements fund could not be used for anything else.
