Looking at what Trump is doing to the east wing I would say it was long overdue.
Hopefully with a big TRUMP sign on the front.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
Rumor is they found a stash of Clinton Cigars/Dildos too.Looking at what Trump is doing to the east wing I would say it was long overdue.

I stopped reading at ...."failed to do anything.."
Why do you even bother?
I give him credit for trying, I guess. You're right, I should have said "Failed to do anything effective.."
The point being, when Republicans were saying that it wouldn't have happened at all under his watch, there is no way to disprove that. It's a hypothetical.
Well, he's failing now. It's no longer a hypothetical. So what evidence is there that he wouldn't have failed then either?
A CNN article for Shooter...
- No approval is needed per the National Capital Planning Commission
- Funded largely by YouTube per CBS
- Mentions the architect, his previous work, and the schematics
"No one gets it more wrong" indeed. 🤣

@mattndallas ha lol. How was that? Was he poppin ZYNNNNNNN
Just saw this. Perfect illustration.
Cute blondie with a MAGA hat...likes Tucker, looking forward to hearing him speak.
Bloomington shitlib...Carlson is "opposed to the existence of a large percentage of people on IU's campus". 🤣 Fucking delusional.

Apparently Federal Buildings cannot be majorly renovated without Congressional approval. Just another log on the fire from the massive woodpile of lawlessness. But the GOP Congress lacks balls.
This perfectly illustrates the frustrating thing about the TDS mindset, and why no practical American takes you dorks seriously.
Trump PRIVATELY funds an upgrade to an underutilized wing of the White House, to be done in in the WH consistent style, by a highly reputed firm that specializes in classical architecture. Not asking Congress for money. Making capital improvements that don't cost the taxpayer a dime.
Instead of recognizing the effort, reviewing the concept looks and commenting, and/or appreciating the fact he isn't sticking Americans with the bill (which he probably should)...
you're crying about "lawlessness" of a privately funded, overdue, capital improvements project, simply because it's done under the Trump presidency, you know it's a value add, will look good, and will add to Trump's legacy 😆
And Elon offered to pay the troops until the shutdown ends. Rather than just saying thanks the Dems immediately said that's illegal as it must be authorized by Congress and threatened to sue.

- No approval is needed per the National Capital Planning Commission
This statement warrants further attention.
The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) grants approval for major renovations of federal buildings and monuments. They have not granted approval for this.
How did Trump get around the approval process? Simple. Before demolition was ever started, Trump installed one of his butt-kissing sycophant yes-men aides, Will Scharf, as NCPC chair. Scharf then made the unprecedented declaration that since this renovation "is not a vertical build", his office has no say in the matter.

@shooter man knows how to get things done
Unbelievable.
No comment on the schematics or look of the improvements. No comment on the need (which all agree was due). I'm guessing he reluctantly agrees that it's being privately funded (?).
Apparently, Shooter is simply upset that that Big Don didn't get snagged in partisan red tape. 🤣
... he reluctantly agrees that it's being privately funded (?).
The White House SAID THAT it is being privately funded. The media has asked repeatedly for evidence. Crickets chirped. Makes you wonder what taxpayer slush fund he is instead tapping into, as is his tendency.
The White House SAID THAT the renovation would in no way affect the current structure. That was clearly a lie.
The fact that you accept everything that a proven liar, grifter, and charlatan spoon feeds you, without any evidence, is quite disturbing.
You must love it that he plans to take $230,000,000 from US taxpayers. What a guy!

Well, YouTube paid Trump about $20M for suspending his account and that is reportedly (Trump claims) going to the project. I think it will be largely, maybe entirely, paid for without taxpayer money. There are no shortage of big money donors and corporations that want to stay on the President's good side, so they'll pony up a lot of money.... he reluctantly agrees that it's being privately funded (?).

Trump did lie about it not impacting the current building. However, it's no shock that he lied about something.
I have seen the artist renderings of what it will look like (posted here by someone) and it's typical Trump grandiosity. Some think it looks great, and some think it's tacky. And that isn't dependent on Trump Devotion (or Derangement) Syndrome.

$20M out of $250M, so (if true, LOL, and it is merely a claim) 8% of the cost is accounted for, and the remaining 92% is unspecified.
The 92% allegedly comes from some undefined combination of pledges from unidentified major companies. I guess his Barbie press secretary, when pressed, claimed some of the companies are Google, Lockheed Martin, and Carrier.
He strangely didn't mention Mexico was paying for it, this time. We remember how that promise held up.

Yes, that is a tiny fraction of the total. I believe a lot of private money will be raised for it. However, if the DOJ pays Donald Trump a couple hundred million, taxpayer money, that will be an outrage whether it goes to this ball room or not.Well, YouTube paid Trump about $20M for suspending his account and that is reportedly (Trump claims) going to the project.

Who’s funding Trump’s $250M ballroom renovation?
No comment on the need (which all agree was due).
I think you can get some legitimate pushback on this statement.
There are 100 venues within 20 miles of the White House that have been serving the function of hosting State dinners for decades and presidents have not been complaining about it (despite Trump saying otherwise).
