@big-ryan what i remember clearly from 2020 is trump leaving office and availing himself of the legal process.  were you in a coma when biden's condition was concealed and harris was anointed the nom?  or that just doesn't comport with your obsession "Bowl."  the entire dem party was just told this is it.  F off.  Harris is the choice.

That's not quite what happened. Obviously party insiders wanted an anointing, but it didn't really matter, because anyone who might have had a shot against Harris declined to get involved. It wasn't because party bigwigs told them to get out of the way. It was because they weren't stupid, and they knew the best thing for their political futures was to let Harris take the L instead of them.

@goat the delay when everyone saw what was going on is the salient bit. It gave rise to what appeared too late to act.  Had they been on the up and up actions could have been taken much sooner. Voters were deprived of a chance to vote and we got Trump.  Threat to democracy give me a break after what the Dems pulled

@bar-down You mean the delay in Biden stepping aside?

@goat the delay in forcing the issue. The ongoing concealment and lying to the public.  None of this had to be a last minute deal. As tapper and others stated this was a coverup.  And it fckd the public out of a chance to vote.  And we have bowl crying about trump.  Give me a break

@bar-down They were in a tough spot. Biden was the nominee. No one had any power to change that. If they tried to force him out and failed, all they did was make his eventual loss to Trump even more assured.

The real failure was on Biden's team - I won't say on Biden because there are questions as to just how much he was the actual decision-maker - as they should have absolutely convinced him to withdraw before the credits even rolled on the debate. Hubris, arrogance, stubbornness, something prevented them from making the obvious move. And, again, it had to be the Biden team that made it, because no one else actually had the power to force it.

Absolutely, Biden should have made it clear he wasn't running before primary season. Failure to do that might have been the main reason Trump won the election.

@aloha-hoosier Well, I wouldn't go that far. I said then and still believe, Trump was always going to win, no matter what. But that doesn't mean we can't still debate whether or not certain strategic moves were incomparably stupid.

Never know, but Harris wasn't the best candidate and one tested by some sort of primary, even a short one, would likely have been better. Despite MAGA claims, it was not a landslide.

It's not really one issue. Election denialism is an easy and clear marker that the candidate believes in a lot of MAGA idiocy or is plying to MAGA idiocy. Voting for someone that is a moron or thinks his/her voters are morons is not going to happen this go around. I held my nose and voted for a few of them in the previous elections since 2016 but I'm not going to do it again.

My post was mostly sarcasm.  Thought the emoji signified that.

Someone really needs to develop a sarcasm font.  That is a major untapped market.

There are some (cough) that have REALLY sensitive skin and chaffe VERY easily. Some of them have drove a boat. SOME.

Sheesh.  I was hoping that Republicans had evolved beyond the "one issue" voting thing after Roe v. Wade was finally overturned.

Twisted

I'm old enough to remember when voting for a convicted felon was unheard of.

But become quite forgiving/ forgetful when you voted for joe, knowing that dr jill was running things. Got damn MAGA is bad.... Or something like that.

You defended Biden and said he was plenty capable when it was clear to anyone with vision that he was cooked

Frickin’ site. I typed a reply and posted it and it didn’t make it. Now I’ll make it short. That is not an accurate description of my position. I was one of the first to say he was declining and shouldn’t run again. My opinion wasn’t that he was incapacitated but that he would eventually become so during his second term. I have the same opinion about Trump. On top of age doing its thing, I think Trump was always unfit for the job.

We had two crappy choices for the Presidency every election from 2016 on.
