If we are unable to get anybody worth a danm this offseason, this whole basketball program would need a full on re-brand! Start from scratch and change everything up. I’m talking new unis/warmups, all brand new state of the art facilities, etc. Get rid of all the program history talk other than the 1976 team, and just do some things that will attract players outside of the $$$! maybe updated stripper/escort services, like Louisville got with Bidunga!? I’m all outa ideas though!
We should of had new uniforms and warmups 15 years ago. I don't care about what Mike Woodson did in 1980 anymore. At some point they need to quit living in the past.
Burton is good mustaf should not be a starter but he will almost assuredly be one. Not a fan of the commitment because I know he will be a starter.
I believe this kid is underrated at #87 in Rivals transfer ratings. He fits well with Burton because he's relatively low usage. If you've haven't seen him, he's quite a physical specimen. Also, he was coming on late in the season. So I like him as our 3rd or 4th best player. Harris is the guy I would not be thrilled about.......
I’ve been saying this forever! These kids and even a lot of their parents do not care or even recall how good IU once was!If we are unable to get anybody worth a danm this offseason, this whole basketball program would need a full on re-brand! start w the unis, then tear down the Hall and build a new, modern field house that seats about the same number of people - then, the students can move near the court like Duke
reed is one of the best bigs in the country and he was 4-12 fg with 3 turnovers. the guy was a beast on the glass but a couple of his offensive rebounds were his own bad misses and many of the others were off of long braylon mullins or alex karaban bricks.
reibe played 5 total minutes in that game and had no stats other than a turnover. i can't really take much away from that performance given just how good michigan's game plan on defense was and just how inefficient basically every uconn player was.
I was at the game, and was rooting for Michigan. I wanted Reibe in the game, not Reed. When he was in the game, Michigan went at him. Box score shows he was in the game for 6 minutes and had no pts, rebounds, assists, shots, or BSs. Reed had 14 rebounds, 13 points, and hit 5-6 FTs. Mara & Johnson together had 20 pts & 14 rebounds. All three of those guys are great players. Reibe, right now, is not a great player. He very well may be by the time he's a junior. As he is right now tho, he's twice the player Alexis & Bailey are, so I'd be very happy were he to become a Hoosier.
i'm not arguing he's a great player yet. i'm saying he's a guy that has elite metrics and will 100% be a high major starter next season. he has a ton to work on but also a ton of upside and i'd love for him to do that alongside sherrell at iu.
I like the Harris pick up- maybe he won’t pan out, but the kid was a very high recruit and just had to sit behind some pros at Duke hoping he delivers given some minutesBurton is good mustaf should not be a starter but he will almost assuredly be one. Per Jeff Rabjohns of peegs.com...a name I have been banging the drum on for a while is getting attention from IU: Jake Hall of New Mexico is a name to know. I've been told Indiana is trying to get him on campus and will have a shot to secure him, if he does make that visit. Hall is a fantastic (and I mean fantastic three-point shooter) and he has three years of eligibility remaining. He's one of my favorite guys still available and would fit great in IU's system.
There's Markus Burton!!! Fantastic day for Indiana basketball!
Why is everyone counting out Sisley as a possible starter next season? He showed some signs and w a yr of development could be a starter
Because we have entered the offseason and this is when every IU players get hyped up big time regardless of how they did the last season or what school they are coming from . It happens every single spring and summer. If we land sherrell I have no doubt some guys on btown banners will have us penciled in as a top fifeteen team in the nation by next week.
Hyped up big time is gross hyperbole, Eeyore..

Lots of rumors of Sherrell announcing tonight.

Somebody send Sherrell the Rose Bowl highlight clip package and remind him he's in for the best Fall of his life.
Burton is a legit stud. We paid him lots.
At this stage of the portal process, I'm a little bit surprised. Shouldn't be as TJ Inman put up a list of possible roster candidates at the start of this topic. With Ryan Carr on board I had expectations of the NBA model of 2 or 3 superstar starters and a group of complementary players. Burton and Sherrell are both fine players but at their respective positions there are a half dozen guys I'd take over them. I'm assuming Indiana has identified Burton and Sherrell as their main stud superstars. Unrealistic expectations on my part but I thought Indiana would shoot a little higher. Why is everyone counting out Sisley as a possible starter next season? Pulling for DeVries to coach up the roster and lead IU to a decent 2026-27 season.
(and we don't have Sherrell yet)

Agree with everything you stated.
Currently I don't see a true elite lead player, a go to guy, I see fair to possibly good complementary players. Burton is the closest to a go to guy and I think that's just a bit above his level .. but they could develop into something more, it happens. That they're all underclassman is also a good thing.
For this to be a stellar class of transfers we need a breakout year from a couple of them. But, then again, were not done yet .. still have 6+ spots left.
We'll see what happens.. today was a good day though. Better than most in hoosier nation.
Had to look up Hall after you hyped him. I'm highly impressed with his 3-point shooting. Very rare for a freshman to finish 10th in the country on 3 point percentage. 43.82% on 117 attempts is rather awesome.Per Jeff Rabjohns of peegs.com...a name I have been banging the drum on for a while is getting attention from IU: Jake Hall of New Mexico is a name to know. Great #s....even rebounds some....#51 on the ON3 ratings....lots of big-time schools after him.
