I lose more and more interest in college bbal by the day. I know some dont care because as long is you win it does matter but to me its nothing more than another pro league at this point. Might as well give them 10 years of eligibility at this point. I will likely be attending alot of high school games this winter.
Agreed. Although I lose interest in all spectator sports as I age. Do they matter? No... But the college scene, yeah, way more so - due to it no longer being college sports.
But I've been waiting so long for us to be good in basketball again, and pretty much the same amount of time post-Mallory for any football to cheer about. That I intend to stick with college sports until I see the Hoosiers on top. I saw a title in football. Amazing! Now need one in basketball!
After that happens, if ever in basketball, I can ride off and watch or do other things.
But as long as I'm still invested in college sports at all, may as well enjoy riding this tidal wave of IU football success. It's awesome.

We can laugh but at this point I rule nothing out. An NBA guy who is no longer at his peak at age say 34 can come and play college and get five million a year so why would he not. The only real rule is you get five years to play but there is no age requirement, etc.

But it seems the crux of all these legal battles is blocking someone, based off age, from their likely earning potential. So there will be, for sure, older NBA and NFL guys that are "aged out" of making professional teams, that could still be impactful in college, that will challenge all this.

The NCAA never wins a case so anything is possible now imo you could see 35 year olds in the next few years imo ( student/ athletes lol). The first year of NIL TJD got 250k like five years ago now guys at the end of the bench get double that to warm the pine. Lots of people will want to get in on the pay day regardless of their age.

Pete Bell was 30 years ahead of his time. Take out the winning part and all the rest came true. And the worst part I see is the last few ncaa tourneys there were no cinderaella's and its obvious why. If a guy is really good at a mid major or smaller school a big school will just pay up the next year and snag him away. The smaller schools will never be able to build teams for four years like they used too which created the upsets. There will be very few upsets going forward in the NCAA.
