The Indiana Hoosiers improved to 7-0 with a walloping of the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. Memorial Stadium was sold out (and is now sold out for the rest of the season!) and FOX’s Big Noon crew was in the house. The table was set and then the Hoosiers feasted. The only negative was a thumb injury to starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke that will sideline him for at least one game and likely ends a budding Heisman Trophy campaign. That injury sets up an easy pick for matchup to watch as Tayven Jackson taking center stage as the starting quarterback with ESPN’s College Gameday in Bloomington. However, the focus for this article will be on an aspect of the game that will go a long way towards setting Tayven Jackson up for success: IU’s running game against Washington’s defense.

There have been many doubts if Indiana would be able to perform against tougher teams and they made a statement today in a huge blowout against the Cornhuskers. The Hoosiers put up a whopping 56 points and allowed only 7 from the Huskers during Saturday’s matchup. Some people didn’t believe that Nebraska’s defense would be too difficult for Indiana to handle, which was the complete opposite of what happened. Indiana’s running backs took control of the game with the help of this stellar offensive line.
