According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. Jackson was a redshirt sophomore this season and started one game for the Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers are heading back to Bloomington after finishing their last game of the season. Indiana suffered a disappointing loss to the Fighting Irish Friday night and couldn’t get things going all game long. One of the biggest things on defense was their inability for the first man to make the tackle.

Coming into the first round of the College Football Playoff, the Indiana offense was averaging 426.4 yards per game and a whopping 41.3 points per game. On a cold night in South Bend, the Hoosiers looked to keep this success going. Unfortunately for IU, the offense was uncharacteristically out of rhythm. In the first half, the Hoosiers had four drives reach Notre Dame territory, only to come away with three points, as three punts and an interception stalled many of their promising drives.

It is all a bit surreal, when you take a step back and think about it.
Curt Cignetti and his Indiana Hoosiers program are headed to the College Football Playoff, one of just 12 teams left in the sport with a chance at winning the national title. One could say it was always possible; it just took the right person to awake the sleeping giant. But in actuality, it has felt for a long time now that the giant may be far past just sleeping. Perhaps, it was hibernating. Maybe even on life support.

Throughout the entire season, people have doubted the Hoosiers’ ability to compete in big games and that doubt grew after an underwhelming performance against Ohio State. This doubt that is cast upon them has driven the team all year and they will continue to play in the College Football Playoffs with that chip on their shoulder.
