Over the course of the 2017 season the Indiana Hoosiers, who would top this list, will play some other pretty impressive receiving corps. 2017 will feature some familiar faces at this position, but many teams on the list will have new names to learn. Gone from this list from last season are Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh of Michigan, Noah Brown from Ohio State, Chris Godwin of Penn State, and DeAngelo Yancey from Purdue.

2017 First Glance: Week Five Penn State Nittany Lions

Indiana heads to Happy Valley in week five to face the defending Big Ten Champs, the Penn State Nittany Lions. IU has beaten Penn State just once in their history, a 44-24 win in Bloomington in 2013. The Nittany Lions return the best quarterback-running back combination in the Big Ten, a pretty good tight end as well as some playmakers on defense. This will be Penn State’s homecoming game and they’ll be sporting their retro jerseys. The Big Ten East is really rough, but this may be the toughest game on IU’s schedule in 2017.

Welcome back to our weekly Top Five Series, where we identify and rank the top players at each position on the Hoosiers 2015 schedule. This week will be putting the most talented wide receivers under a microscope. We found that selecting our top five pass catchers was as equally as difficult as picking out the top five running backs, but for a decidedly different reason. There were so many good choices at wide receiver it was hard to pare it down to just five. Whereas at running back, we had trouble coming up with a consensus top five as there are so many questions marks surrounding the position in the Big Ten this year. Here are what we believe to be the top wide receivers who will be attempting to take advantage of the Hoosiers inexperienced secondary.

Indiana QB Nate Sudfeld Named to the Maxwell Award Watch List

Sudfeld Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

When healthy, Nate Sudfeld has proven to be one of the better quarterbacks in the nation. On Tuesday, the Maxwell Football Club announced that his play has earned him a place on the watch list for the 79th annual Maxwell Award. The Maxwell Award is given to America’s College Player of the Year and semifinalists will be announced on November 2.
