Warren takes over for Kane Wommack who left IU to become the head coach at South Alabama. While the nuances of the defense may change a little, the standard that Taylor is setting for the younger defensive backs hasn’t.

Happy Hump Day, No. 7 Hoosiers fans! Although it wasn’t the NY6 bowl they very clearly earned, the Hoosiers are headed to the Outback Bowl on January 2nd. In 11 short days, your Big Ten Coach of the Year, Tom Allen and the Hoosiers are set to face Ole Miss in Tampa at 12:30 ET.

Last week the IU football squad gained 14 players on early signing day. We have gotten to know these players and have watched them closely this year and have made profiles on each of the 14 guys who made their commitment official last week. Get to know them here.

That was defensive coordinator Kane Wommack’s goal last year— to create three takeaways per game. In his second year at the helm of Indiana defense, Wommack and his guys are doing just that.

On Saturday night, the Hoosiers chances were reinforced by the three takeaways and three other fourth down stops the defense created which led them to a 37-21 win in Piscataway.
