The Indiana Hoosiers will be looking for a new safeties coach as Noah Joseph has left IU to join the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as defensive backs coach as first reported by NJ.com. Joseph joined the Hoosiers staff in 2014 and spent four seasons coaching on the defensive side of the ball.

Heading into the 2017 season the question is what is the next step for a defense that improved their points allowed by 10.2 points per game. Texas Defensive Back Mike Gardner 'Thankful' For IU Offer

Indiana is in search for the right safety for their secondary in the 2018 class, and the Hoosiers just offered one from a top school in Texas. Mike Gardner, from Desoto, Texas has picked up an offer.

“I talked to Coach Joseph, the defensive backs coach,” said Gardner. “He's a great guy, very down to earth and very conversational. I'm excited to grow our relationship in the future and to get to learn more about Indiana.”

Wilson Tweaks Staff, Merges Secondary Coaches to Improve Cohesiveness

The Indiana football coaching staff will remain intact for the second year in a row for the first time in head coach Kevin Wilson's tenure. However, there was a shake up in responsibilities amongst the staff. Wilson, who is probably coaching for his job in 2015 has combined the responsibilities of cornerbacks coach Brandon Shelby and safeties coach Noah Joseph. They will no both be co-secondary coaches.

Noah Joseph Hired as Safeties Coach

Indiana rounded out their coaching staff today as Kevin Wilson announced the hiring of safeties coach Noah Joseph.  Joseph comes via North Texas, as he was the Mean Green's safeties coach and recruiting coordinator.  North Texas finished with a 9-4 record last season and capped the year off with a victory in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
