Head coach Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers have had a lot of success converting official visits to commitments as they build the 2025 recruiting class. They have landed another piece to the secondary as Ohio defensive back Seaonta Stewart committed to IU after a June 21 official visit.

Stewart is an athlete from Winton Woods High School and he is ranked the 20th best prospect in the state of Ohio for the 2025 class. He chose IU over an impressive offer list that included Illinois, Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Oklahoma and others. Defensive Coordinator Bryant Haines and position coach Rod Ojong were the primary recruiters for Stewart and he is expected to be a defensive back for Indiana. Stewart visited West Virginia on May 31, Purdue on June 7, Oklahoma on June 14 and then took the decisive trip to Bloomington on June 21.

The talented athlete joins a 2025 class that looks very strong in the defensive backfield. Four-star Byron Baldwin anchors the class at safety and he is joined by cornerbacks Jaylen Bell and Zacharey Smith along with safety Garrett Reese. The Hoosiers are in the top 50 nationally as a class according to 247Sports and are expected to add another couple of players to bring the final number of prospects to around 20 before National Signing Day.
