“Here We Go!” – Hoosiers Secure Commitment of Mario Landino

Written by: TJ Inman

On Sunday morning, IU head coach Curt Cignetti sent out a social media post implying that his staff had officially begun building the roster and things were picking up steam. Sunday afternoon saw the first commitment to his regime as running back Justice Ellison announced his transfer from Wake Forest to Indiana. On Monday, the flood gates opened. Mario Landino, a defensive lineman from Pennsylvania, flipped his commitment from James Madison to Indiana.

The 6’4” lineman played for Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania and is considered a three-star prospect. He is currently listed at 255 pounds but has a frame that can definitely add 15-20 pounds quickly in a collegiate strength program. Landino is expected to be an interior lineman for the Hoosiers. He clearly has believers in defensive line coach Pat Kuntz and defensive coordinator Bryant Haines and his visit to Indiana this past weekend solidified his decision for college.

“It was an amazing visit that they had set up,” Landino told Peegs.com’s Matt Weaver. “My parents and I definitely felt at home between the coaching staff and the area of Bloomington. We were very blessed to receive this opportunity!”

Hoosier Huddle will have ongoing coverage as Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff build their roster in Bloomington.
