Promising favorable treatment for border control contracts under the 2nd Trump administration. But once the administration took office, the investigation was shut down. Shocking.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/20/tom-homan-undercover-fbi-agents

On one hand... I am not surprised and disappointed. On the other, I am skeptical of MSNBC's reporting and sources (that's who broke this story).

It's odd that the OP left out the word  "reportedly" from his threat title.  He's usually so fair and balanced....

Also, we are asked to believe that the Biden DOJ & FBI held off filing conspiracy charges when "Multiple federal official believed they had a solid case against Holman for conspiracy to commit bribery".  They did not demonstrate such reticence on previous occasions involving Trump associates.

I hope the allegations are not true and that Adam Schiff made his comments off the floor, so that he could be sued for a billion $.  He is the lowest form of life in Congress, which is saying a lot.

The rest of your quote:

"However, since Homan was not a public official at the time he accepted the money and Trump had not yet become president, his actions did not meet the criteria for a standard bribery charge.

Officials eventually decided to continue monitoring Homan once he joined Trump’s second presidential administration. MSNBC reports that officials had been looking at four potential criminal charges including conspiracy, bribery and two kinds of fraud, before Trump’s new justice department shut down the investigation."

@boogie boogie. Please.  Can we have one day where we don’t fight. For Charlie?  How about posting what you guys are doing today to honor his spirit. Or a fond memory or something

Charlie was about spreading hate.  We can argue on here in his honor cause hate is exactly what he was about

Your idiotic comments never disappoint.  But do tell...what examples do you have of him spreading hate?

The target has to initiate the crime.  If the government initiates it; entrapment.

That's ridiculous. Not even the White House is claiming entrapment. They are simply saying Homan is innocent. If the investigation was done in a way to bring up the issue if entrapment, you can bet they'd be doing it.

No politician/official  would say 'entrapment' unless/until they were actually charged.  Until then they would claim innocence.

Yes I saw the rest of the story, and am skeptical the corrupt Biden DOJ/FBI held off filing what 'multiple officials' believed were legit charges when they had a Trump ally in the crosshairs.

I'm assuming it was a "real" contractor at least?  Did they get whatever gig they were bribing for?

@carramrod exactly, and why didn’t the Biden FBI refer charges, “when he accepted the $$ to do the deed”?  Oh, they were waiting in the bushes to see if he was going to do the deed.  LMAO

This is such a stupid report and all jumping on here to highlight it know it’s a crock.

@goat losing more credibility (if there’s any remaining?) by the minute

The folks twisting themselves into pretzels to brush this off or explain this away are only embarrassing themselves.

Either we are opposed to corruption or we’re not. Period.

Is entrapment government corruption?

@co-hoosier I was watching cops with my wife a few nights ago and she asked a question:

When cops do stings for prostitution, why isn't that considered entrapment?  Wouldn't this be basically the same thing, yet here we have people on the right saying it was entrapment what Homan allegedly did.

Seems like this kind of thing, when the act or crime being committed, has been going on for a LONG time.

Excellent question.  Prostitution stings are where entrapment issues often come up.   The idea for the illegal conduct must originate with the suspect, not the cop.  In prostitution cases, the cops must be very careful to never ask for services.  The target must make the offer.  For example, if a cop walked up to somebody in a Walmart parking lot and offered $1,000 for a BJ, that’s entrapment.

In Homan’s case, if the agents offered Holman $50k for favorable decisions, I think that is entrapment.

Did you read the most recent article linked? It wasn't the feds' idea. They were tipped off by Homan's guy going around shopping favors.

And there is zero evidence that this was entrapment aside from MAGA “Republican” assertions. Law and order isn’t a concern in that faction of the party.
