Honestly, I used to have a lot of Chinese places I liked, right now, not so much.
Not to belabor the point and quote function by quoting this line again, but I feel the same way about many of my old Asian restaurant favorites. My work had me on the road alot from the 80's to the 00's from downtown Indy east and south to the borders of Ohio and Kentucky. I made a point to find small/medium town restaurants to try. It would take more than both hands and feet to count the number of those small mom and pop Asian places that have either closed or changed ownership the past few decades...and the quality of those has largely fallen off due to cost/labor cutting in the prep department.
Back then many times I would arrive at opening or just before for a lunch on the road, and more often than not staff would still be prepping (cutting fresh produce, rolling trays of egg rolls/spring rolls, trimming fresh meat and filling/folding wontons, rangoons and dumplings). These days most everything that is meant to be fried comes frozen from the same distributors. It's bland, mushy and tastes of dirty dishwater. Even the meats seem processed in some dishes. The worst is when they can't even be assed to fry the fried rice and instead try to pass off steamed yellow rice with vegetables as "fried".
I miss the old days lol.

FOGO was a great deal when I was younger and could eat a lot of steak. Now I’m a moneymaker for them.
My oldest tells me that Greenwood has a Brazilian steakhouse that is less expensive than FOGO. She says the salad bar is less impressive but is still good. We are going to see Steve Martin/Martin Short Saturday for my birthday and will hit that Greenwood place to try it out.
Ten Cuts?
Don't forget to report back. Haven't been there.
@mattndallas we went to 10 Cuts tonight. The salad bar isn't close in size to Fogo, but what they have is good.some hot foods, a lot of potato salad/slaw type things, salads, cheeses
The meets were the star. The rib i had was good except for one bite that was terrible. I have no idea why. The ribeye, sirloin, and were really good but for some maybe a little salty in spots. The top sirloin was excellent. They came around with garlic bread that would make Chicago's Leona's "kick ass garlic bread hide" it's head in shame. I didn't know that much garlic could exist.
Now it is only $7 or so less per person than FOGO. So it isn't a huge difference. On a Saturday night there were 15-20 people there, so I worry about its longevity.
Have any of you eaten at the Golden Steer in LV? Was it worth the hype?
@dbmhoosier much better steakhouses in Vegas. Not worth it. Tho we didn’t do the rat pack booths etc
Has anyone been to one of these steakhouses and have thoughts?

Prime 47 in Carmel has a bunch of douchers, and cougars with big juggs, that hang out at the bar. Never had a steak there, though.
@mattndallas they get those big fakees then everything else gets big too. I don’t know why they don’t understand that.
My wife and I took two of her relatives to the Baylor game and then to St Elmos. $490 bill plus $200 tip to the server.Carry on. Delicious bean soup. Shrimp cocktail excellent. steaks yikes. Not good

Garrett is the next town over, so we've been to Shorty's quite a bit. The people that own the place my wife works at also owns this place.
Super good food and the staff is also nice.
