Couple of observations from a recent visit with my kids:
- I still like the limestone buildings and amount of greenery and walking trails; it just shits on urban campuses (e.g., U of MN) or those with different architecture (e.g., PSU)
- Sample Gates area is still beautiful
- IMU is awesome
- Bloomington needs to clean itself up - way too much litering and trash on the streets
- Kirkwood homeless issue is even worse than 20 years ago - bus them out of town

Even some local Dems are finally getting tired of the homeless problem. Waking up to the fact it's just a money grab for the local homeless shelter operator. They've allowed this nonsense to continue, and everything within a 1/2 mile of his cash grab turns to shit...including their businesses.
Southside along Walnut...business after business shuttered. A couple hanging on. The fucking post office had to put up a fence around it because it's directly in line form the homeless shelter and Seminary Park.
A shitlib mainstay...the Bedrak Cafe...complete with its "BLACK LIVES MATTER" signage, and needled parking lot, even suffered the consequences. No one is spared.
The Krogetto across the street from the park has gotta be on life support...can't imagine the nonsense that goes on there.
Current mayor seems to at least be trying...a bit...but even she's hamstrung by shitlib empathy. She just moves them around a bit...like throwing a pile of dirty clothes on the closet, instead of the washing machine.
There's this government sponsored, basically drug house, on Henderson south of town, just down the street from Bloomington South. Usually the dregs aren't on display in the morning, but for whatever reason, this year was different. Parents and kids rolling up Henderson to school dropoff having to dodge people camping IN the bus stop canopy. Sleeping across the sidewalk. Dashing through traffic without a pause almost causing accidents. A complete shitshow.
Locals are finally getting tired of it.

Had no idea what he's talking about. I text wife and daughter asking if they know what he's talking about.
Apparently, wife/Mom and her are going down to Nashville Thursday to see Tate McRae at Bridgestone, then coming back Friday AM. Daughter thought she would just skip practice Thursday, I guess. Told the Coach. He was pissed. Threatened to bench her against East Central Sat. 🙄
I knew nothing about it.
Me - "You're the fucking third leading scorer in the state, on the fucking 9th fucking ranked team in the fucking state, say you want to play fucking college soccer, and you're skipping fucking practice in the middle of the fucking season to go see fucking Tate McRae in fucking Nashville?!?!? WTF!!"
Her - "Bro, it's not that deep. (Iverson voice) It's practice."
I was like Jason Lee in Almost Famous, daughter was Russell, wife was Dick the Manager, and the T-shirt was 'skipping practice". 😆
But I do like how she’s cashing in some of her superstar capital to go to the concert. “Hey coach, I’m your best player. You want to lose? Bench me. Otherwise, STFU buttercup.”
