Even though Reiner is very good at being a director, while Trump has some conspicuous shortcomings, I think I would enjoy a beer and burger with Trump more than I would Reiner. Reiner seemed to be wound too tight.
Reiner was beloved by his friends, known to be a good guy, had a great sense of humor(even when he was the joke!), and probably had a million stories about Hollywood. He would have been a great drinking buddy.
Trump famously doesn't drink alcohol. Which should be anyone's first clue not to trust him.
@dbmhoosier This is a very sad story. The President made a mistake in the timing in what he said,though I can't it to be inaccurate. It appears Reiner and his wife were stabbed to death. If they had been shot to death the gun control folks would make the same mistake as Trump which is about timing. A couple was killed by their son so that is the main topic and anything else is out of bounds
You know how I know our society is doomed? We view these types of mistakes as an error in "timing" rather than an error in sentiment.
