He should lead by example. Our children should see his behavior as a standard to try to emulate. Instead we elected this guy. Specifics aside, a statement similar to that is the absolute bare minimum a US President should be able to make. The bar is practically on the ground and Trump couldn't clear it.

Agree with Arthur on this one. Possible yes, but "apparently" and "obviously" is a very big stretch. I unfortunately have known a couple of people over the years who came from perfectly normal backgrounds, but for whatever reason that nobody can assign a reason to, just....snapped.... and did something horrible (murder, suicide, rape).
It is a very sad truth, but everybody has their breaking point. And let me be perfectly clear about this, EVERYBODY has their breaking point. Even you.

Sorry, but no. You may be mentally stronger and it would likely take more to break you than what caused many others to break, but that threshold absolutely exists. You are kidding yourself if you don't believe it.
Whether it is some kind of traumatic trigger or just a continuing cycle of bad choices and / or bad luck making life miserable, Every. Single. Human. has some tipping point that pushes them into behavior that causes them to lash out, causing harm to others or themselves.
Probably the easiest proof of this would be Shaken Baby Syndrome. It is not common, but it happens about 1200 times a year in this country. Literally parents causing permanent damage to a defenseless child, just because they can't stand their child crying. Something as simple as an inconvenient noise, happening over an extended period of time, can cause violence in a person.
So, sorry for the inconvenient truth, but you are not immune.
Whatever caused Reiner's son to go off could have come from some "history" with his father / mother, but it just as easily could have been a result of his life going to crap for the last month and having nothing to do with his family or how he was raised. When people reach that breaking point, you can't apply rational, reasoning logic to their actions.

NY Post article goes over the son's many rehab stints, many heated arguments in public, one incident where he trashed his parent's house in a "meth-fueled rage", and many descriptions by family and neighbors as being an unhinged scary resentful dude with constant violent tendencies.

I don't think he was saying that this was the only reason why Reiner's son went nuts, but that Reiner was creating a lot of bad vibes with people around him, which would include his son. No, I don't think DJT is the Anti Christ. But thinking he is or might be is perhaps an indication of TDS
