Umm....yeah. I used to drive from Dallas to Houston three times a month. I've stopped at the original Madisonville, TX location probably over 100 times. We used to hit the New Braunfels location to load up the motorhome before floating the Comal, and seeing bands at Gruene Hall or Luckenbach. I know Bucees.
We hit the one between Nashville and Knoxville annually when club soccer takes us on the Tennessee two-step. Also hit the one south of Lexington, KY. I'm hearing there may be one planned over near Dayton?
I won't hold my breath for Buc-ees, but I am excited that Oklahoma's Quik Trips are apparently starting to move into Indiana (looks like they're in Colorado now as well). Think Effingham was about the closest to Indiana, but hear one may be being built up near Anderson, IN. QT's are like mini-Buc-ees. Quicker in and outs, not quite the food quality or selection, but great grab and go options, including breakfast items. Would be the best "gas station" in Indiana though.

I was told last year there was a Buc-ee's in the works for around Evansville, but I can't find anything about it, now, so it might have been fake news.
QT has top tier gas, Buc-ee’s doesn’t. Don’t know if top tier is a scam or not, but my owner’s manual says use it.

I’m in Albuquerque tonight. Saw several QTs on the trip but didn’t stop at any.
If you are in Albuquerque, you must go to the Frontier in the morning for a breakfast burrito smothered in stew. And a cinnamon roll. You won’t regret it.

I'd heard potentially Buc-ees on 65 down by Southport, but just a rumor.
The QT brisket sandwich or burrito is good, quick, and inexpensive.
Bloomington added a place called Rockets Convenience Plus...which seems like a standalone attempt at a QT. Has the cool kitchen, drive through food, nice fountain, open and airy...just not sure if they have the staffing right yet. It COULD be as cool as a QT, but not yet.

I've always been ambivalent about Bourdain. That clip is the perfect example.
For him to have lived that long and never been to a Waffle House was a choice given his travels. Here, he tries to be cool, and down to Earth, yet there is that piece of him that is clearly elitist. He says "I'm not getting a waffle" and I think he means it--he thinks he's too good for it or it can't be good because of where he's at. Maybe his taste buds would confirm that. But then he says "Oh this is so great. It's better than French Laundry" and it feels like he's patronizing or faking it. I would guess if he were served that same waffle at French Laundry, he would complain that it was low grade and awful.
I loved his show, though--from the cinematography to the subject matter to his interactions. But sometimes his writing on it was a bit pretentiously "common man." In some ways, given his life story, I think he was ambivalent about himself, too.
I can report that our local cracker barrel is as dead as it was six months ago.
