@spartans9312 That's amazing LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and yes they did indeed take it seriously as hell.  i wonder what happened. my friends are all drunks really.  i don't know or have never known any of them to play softball.  and i never see it anywhere.  it was huge!

Elkhart RV companies would hire Aussie and NZ pitchers at their factories, just to play for their fast pitch teams. Dudes could throw 90+ from 46 feet.

We discussed this at Rivals, didn't we?

@spartans9312 That's ridiculous lmao.  Equipment should not play that big of a role.  He said the infielders from our crew were literally scared for hteir lives the entire game the ball was coming so fast at them lol

@bradstevens LOL It's so weird that these businesses got so into it for a spell.  To go to those lengths!   I dont remember.  I just remember Cortez sharing the intramural story I shared with Spartans about the good bats and our crew who were poor as hell using poor bats.  and he mentioned whatever that technical stuff @spartans9312 is talking about.  double milled or whatever

@arthur-dent What a shame - losers from Indy are coming down and ruining things for students and the university. Keep the scum out.

@jdb It's always black youths.  Anywhere they congregrate forget it.  Destroyed SOBE.  The dirty myrtle.  If they target it as a destination the place is ruined.  And of course the idiot mayor decries guns.  Never asking for accountability.  It's just guns.  And I say this as the blackest mother fcker on this board.  I got busted with a fake ID, had to go before the board judge, plea out, got reinstated, and now i post on here on probation with a fing scram bracelet

@arthur-dent That's a shame to hear about softball.  I always think of that as the ultimate beer drinking sport.  I'll never forget being a kid and my dad worked for Purina. They had a softball team.  The Soyboys.  Anyway my dad became good buddies with a bunch of the guys and they finally talked him into coming out.  My dad was a wrestler.  Built like a tank.  Super confident strong old school dude.  He came home white as a ghost.  He said those guys were so damn good that he was petrified to take the field!  He survived the season but said it was one of the most miserably stressful things ever done.  Those guys back in the 80s took their softball seriously and were legit lol

Indy Parks and Rec. softball. Played one year with a team called Haughville Hounds.

It became an equipment game.

Cortez tells a hilarious story on that front.  So our group played all the intramural sports and we were dynamite.  Won flag football.  Won soccer.  Lost in the championship in basketball at AH.  And then they played softball.  I didn't.  As they tell it the team they played all showed up with $300 bats and they were lucky to come out alive the ball was coming so fast at them off those bats.  They got demolished

Single wall bats and blue dot balls was the best combo. Double-wall was ok but the composites were scary. You essentially had to play with a dead ball for safety.

We played in a big tournament in Bloomington that had some really good teams. We were good and had won our share but couldn’t compete against these guys who were already better then had to top-line bats. The tournament had a home run limit. These guys could hit the ball wherever they wanted. It’s taboo to hit the pitcher….everyone tries to stay away from up the middle. These guys tell us before the game to tell our pitcher not to move…we won’t hit him. But you also want to tell him to tie his shoes because if he trips he will get hit. They were hitting rockets right to each side of him…never hit him.

When I pitched, the goal was to get as close to 2nd as humanly possible. I have seen videos of the no limit softball, that may be the solution. Put the ball up to 20 feet and drop it virtually straight down and hitters are at a big disadvantage.

The city is going to have to crack down next year. The fact they let all of those people just loiter on Kirkwood all night puts part of the blame on the city for it's response.  Whenever you see a large group of this demographic congregating in those numbers in one area, you know the shootings are coming if you don't break them into smaller groups and send them on their way and even then it might be too late.

Not to be a Debbie downer on your Amish jokes, but the Amish east of Indy grow a wicked oregano.

@hooky They woke up and came to opening day at Six Flags here.  Had to shut it down as over a 100 people were involved in fights.  Metal detectors kept their guns out at the cars so not sure what the excuse will be for it.  Mr. Freeze closed or something.

They closed down the Wash U carnival last year.  The nation's oldest student carnival.  But this year the school was smart.  They put it on campus had about a 100 cops in a confined area with metal detectors and you couldn't get in without an ID
