You do know that in Trump's recent cabinet meeting he got confused and said that the prices of oil have been affected by our conflict (NOT a war!!! he stressed) with Venezuela and how we took out both their first and second levels of leadership.
The man can't even tell us which country we are at (/not at) war with.

If the midterms end up being a Republican slaughter, the calls within the party to limit Trump's public messaging are going to start getting louder, if only to salvage a slim hope of not getting further abused in '28.

No, it's no different from mistaking Iceland for Greenland, or Hungary for Turkey or Orban for Erdogan. Or telling India's prime minister that India does not share a border with China (they share a 2,500 mile border), or insisting that Iran and Qatar share a border (they don't), or frequently referring to the non-existent country of "Nambia," or repeatedly confusing Azerbaijan and Albania with Cambodia and Armenia when discussing regional conflicts and peace deals.
Even domestically, he's talked about Colorado's border with Mexico (there isn't one).
It's likely he had a lapse (again) with respect to geopolitics and forgot Oman was our ally.
