@hurryinghoosiers i would be widely missed.  not so much by the hardcore lefties.  for sure.  you on the other hand have the unique distinction of being disliked and thought a moron by both sides.  kudos.  going all the way back to the 90s you're the only poster i can think of to enjoy such a designation.

@bulk-vh I’ve never been a Kid Rock fan. I think he sucks so bad. I honestly don’t think I’d take money if offered to see him. It’d be such a supreme waste of time. All that early 2000s music was/is crap. Limp Bizkit and all the bands that sounded like them were just horrible.

I’m certain a level of my own personal hell would be a music festival headlined by Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Creed and all those early 2000s craptastic bands

I'd cut my left leg off to have been able to go to Woodstock 99, to experience the shitshow that it was.

@ohio-guy we were tailgating and corduroy by pearl jam came on.  i had forgotten how great that song is. super high energy.  but that's not kid rock.  i guarantee there a ton of hoosier kids conceived after getting wasted at a lake bar blaring kid rock - and that shitty music somehow made it more fun

BTW Murt, I was thinking of you last night at 3AM as I was driving home from work (yipee, another 16 hour day....).  The gas station that I had filled up at late last week was at the lowest level I had seen in a long long time.  $2.36.  I was almost about to give Trump credit for it.

Low and behold, the gas price as I drove by last night, $3.19.  An 0.83 cent price increase (35%).  Almost historic level of an increase, wouldn't you say.  Wink

Gas is one of the few commodities that we have been able to keep reasonably priced, thankfully. Energy is the base layer of societies.  The fact it is back under 3 dollars after increasing the money supply by 50% is impressive.

Ah.  Hadn't heard about that refinery outage.

Thanks Trump!

I saw Kid Rock in concert about a decade ago.  He was opening for the Stones.  I showed up halfway through his set.  Came away thinking I hadn't missed much.

My concerns mirror those of many legal scholars, including this one:

https://verdict.justia.com/2025/04/30/34-out-of-35-scholars-agree-trump-is-a-lawless-authoritarian

A top 7:

A) Threatening judges with impeachment for adverse rulings.

B) Failing to comply with court orders.

C) efforts to suspend habeas corpus

D) Revocation of visas for permanent residents and students in retaliation for speech that is clearly protected, for U.S. citizens and for non-citizens as well.

E) Withdrawal or freezing of funding for research at universities that, in the administration’s view, insufficiently cracked down on Gaza-related protests, or insufficiently committed to barring transgender female athletes’ participation in women’s sports, or that embrace Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives.  In addition to violating free speech and academic freedom, these actions violate numerous federal statutory provisions setting procedural and substantive limits on funding withdrawals.

F) Threatening and in some instances bringing borderline-frivolous or actually frivolous litigation against journalists and news outlets for airing constitutionally protected opinion.

G) Revoking security clearances for political opponents, while threatening companies that hire law firms that represent interests seen as adverse to the president, personally or to his policies.

@shooter legal scholars is another way of saying liberals.  law schools aren't conservatives.  you'd do better to not cite such things and just speak for yourself.  your list compared to what we endured under biden that actually touched the lives of every american is comical.  but you're a "conservative" lmao.  trump is a bully.  doubtless.  and he does and says stupid shit.  but the fascism authoritarian shit is a worthless illusory argument.  what's more politics doesn't occur in a vacuum.  trump suck?  in many areas absolutely.  but remember who he ran against and what they did to our country.  that's why we have him. so screaming about trump is foolish.  fix your party.  then you won't have a maga problem

Was never really a Kid Rock guy...same as most.  The early 00's rock/rap thing wasn't my jam.

That said, his show at the 2007 Carb Day was the best that events ever had.  Packed from behind the Tower Terrace all the way out to Hulman Blvd through the center of the track.  Easily the largest crowd ever.  He should play Carb Day every year...no better stage or crowd for him.

Creed I was also indifferent to, until they became the anthem to the Rangers 2023 World Series.  Kinda dig their psuedo-comeback now.

I think you're right about this, I just never liked him or his music, even in those situations. I totally get what you're saying though and 100% agree.
