@mattndallas duh. Shitter should be in a nervous hospital. What kind of 50 year old dude is making signs to go walk with 70 yr old women and misfit college kids. And what is bad? Trying to clean up cities. Fix what the dems have ruined. San Fran etc. These people can f right off. These are the people who got Trump elected. We don’t want the country they want
Yeah, but some gang members might get detained and then deported. Oh, the humanity.
Can anyone here play this game?

Different mindset for sure.
I mean, I went to a psuedo Beto rally once in Dallas. Was downtown at a cool park, and they had the The Polyphonic Spree and Spoon playing. The speakers were whatever...typical liberal anti-Trump talking points. Meh, but I was there for the bands. I get going to something like that. Tatted chicks and dudes for sure. Band/club types. People we used to hang with in Dallas before the 2020 woke revolution.

Quarterly standing around the square, dressed in inflatables, singing corny songs with blue haired fatties, black-clad stringbean pussies, and old ex-hippies trying to desperately equate Trump with sending kids to die in Vietnam...
I mean, what kind of absolute outcasts find that shit entertaining, or at best, worth an hour of their time?
Donald Trump had a 4 year resume as POTUS. He had spent a lifetime in the public eye as a shameless self promoter. He was and is a known commodity. Donald Trump has managed to win 2 out of 3 elections not because he was the cure for what ails us, but because it was so painfully obvious that his opposition "IS" what ails us.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

I wouldn’t consider this as a compliment to my nephew.
The No Kings Day message is “ We Hate Trump, So Shut Up,” which your nephew’s sign emphasizes.

not exactly...
The No Kings Day message is “ We Hate What Trump Is Doing to America, and You Are Not Going to Shut Us Up”

Well. If I heard a no kings protest was coming to my hood I’d think nerds. But I wouldn’t worry about shit being set on fire large scale cop attacks stores looted like the typical racial protests so whatever. Doesn’t bother me

The protests are not going to change the mind of a single Trump supporter.
The protesters also know that the White House doesn't give a crap.
The purpose of the protests is to get noticed by the 10% of Americans who don't follow politics at all but still actually vote in elections.
Let's be honest, 90% of the voters out there are going to vote in 2026 / 2028 based upon their party of choice. Nothing that is done (outside something monumentally bad / stupid / catastrophic) by either party is going to affect that.
But when someone who doesn't follow the news cycle religiously and is just living their life day-to-day drives down the street and sees thousands of protesters gathered and sending a unified message, it leaves an impression. With how close the margins are right now in swing states, just getting 1 in 10 of those undecided votes is pretty much all it takes to achieve the margin of victory.
So yeah, dismiss these protests all you like, but you are not the target audience.
My wife is a liberal Dem and really wanted to go. I was reluctant, being an independent and not wanting to be around shitlibs calling for open borders, sanctuary cities, spend-spend-spend, etc.
But as it turned out there wasn't much of that at all. And some enterprising Boy Scouts were selling popcorn, which is nice.

Meh, but I was there for the bands.
One thing is certain, a left-leaning rally is most definitely going to have cooler music.

I don't think there is much of that outside some fringe elements anyway.
BTW Murt, I was thinking of you last night at 3AM as I was driving home from work (yipee, another 16 hour day....). The gas station that I had filled up at late last week was at the lowest level I had seen in a long long time. $2.36. I was almost about to give Trump credit for it.
Low and behold, the gas price as I drove by last night, $3.19. An 0.83 cent price increase (35%). Almost historic level of an increase, wouldn't you say.

And more logical. It cracks me up hearing MAGA play the Village People and then claim that LGBTQ+ is an abomination
