Questions.

1. Does money really matter anymore in getting candidates elected?

2. Elon’s idea of a party line aligns to European type elections, but not to American. I can get elected to the Senate in Georgia as a member of the America party, but Elon Musk in no way controls how I vote once I arrive at the Senate.

We've got the American Party now.

Having seen what they do to a 3rd party, I have zero hope. You can't even get a 3rd party candidate into the debates with the 15% threshold requirement in addition to the others.  Perot is the lone exception since the new debate commission wrote the rules in '88.

That's not a 3rd party.  That's just what the Republican party has morphed into after a few decades of being no different than the Dem party.

Love the Ben Franklin quote in your sig line. It reminds of of the Calvin Coolidge quote...

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

I would like a third party only if it means the Democrats are divided. See what I did there Eppy? lol

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon

@hhlurker The reality is we are a two party system. So what should happen is the 80% should take over one of the other parties.

Our most criminally underrated president. Last one we had who properly understood the role of the executive in our system of government.
