Unlike McM, I'm not defined by my reaction score or stars or wallet.
It might be that. And it might be that some focused on financial success at a young age and in prioritizing it, failed in other areas. Once you get old enough, it's hard to change your weighting of values much without looking back on your life with a lot of regret. That's a tough ask for just about anyone.
I think the people who resort to those sorts of judgements do so because deep down they recognize themselves as failures in some other ways, so they deflect to the one measurable that makes them feel successful.
I find this discussion analagous to the expertise problem whereby people give credence to an expert's opinion, even outside their area of expertise. So, too, do humans have a tendency to find someone a "success" in a lot of areas they weren't successful in, as long as they have a very demonstrable success financially or professionally (I'm not sure it translates to other areas).
European politics is not any more functional than ours.
Not sure who you are, but you would be a great addition to The Dream Team. Also, I 100% agree. Plenty of European nations have more then 2 parties and it's only produced socialist shit hole countries where people can't afford houses, air conditioning, or children. No thank you.
Elon's American Party will just hand over the country to people like Mamdani, which brings me to my rant. I'm sick of conservatives being miserable c#nts. Trump might suck, but you know what sucks 10x more? Biden and sh#t libs. It's an easy decision.
@snarlcakes dude that's farva. fantastic
