This wouldn’t fly on North Jordan. A “free pussy” text would get your ass beat and kicked out of the house.

LOL

What do you know? Your predilections wrt Greek life and specifically fraternity houses are frankly cartoonish.

You seem to think they are over indexed on predators because you saw some bullshit study sometime.

Here’s what we do know. They have higher gpa’s than their independent cohorts, higher starting salaries. They’re more charitable.

In other words, just better all around people.

@carramrod I went to IUB, remember? I partied on N. Jordan. I dated an Alpha Chi. I saw lots of good things about the Greek life, and also lots of bad things. Stop pretending you're the only person who knows shit. You're probably one of the most ignorant posters on this forum.

And Evans isn't a Greek program. It's just nerds with good real estate.

@bar-down I'm sure. According to the article, that's how it happened in Minnesota - a high profile conviction was overturned by the courts, and the law was changed.

If you think about it, it makes sense. If someone is genuinely so intoxicated that they are no longer capable of meaningful consent, then it really doesn't matter how they got to that state. I mean, we don't draw that distinction with other mental states. You rape an unconscious girl, no one asks if you knocked her out, or if she voluntarily went to sleep on her own. It's still rape, either way. You don't get to say, "Well, she was talking in her sleep, and she said yes." We draw a bright line - if you're unconscious, you can't consent, no matter how you got that way.

Was she unconscious?

She was taken advantage of by terrible, despicable people who deserve some punishment. But is it rape? Maybe?

I know I wouldn't put myself in that situation b/c i'm 51 and was never in that situation. Which is actually not true. I left and locked the door on my way out a couple times.

Were some of them partying with her?  Just as fucked up?  I don’t know the facts in detail.

If she can’t consent b/c of intoxication, is it consistent or fair to say the intoxicated boys had the mental state needed to commit rape and be labeled terrible, despicable people (yes, I know there are laws/precedent on this for the legal question)?

Lot more moral complexity in these cases than many want to admit.

Once the threesome was over, everything beyond that was terrible and despicable. They knew better and did it anyway. Of course, so did she. So here we are.

The initial threesome was also despicable.

Prudish conservative notions about sex avoid this mess. One partner, preferably in the context of marriage.

If she reported these guys because of remorse at the shaming afterwards, I find that far, far more despicable than having premarital sex with multiple partners.  The threesome, even the group sex outside it, if consensual, hurt no one.  Maybe a mistake, but hard to call it vile or outrageously bad moral act.

@bradstevens AOC is the worst. Using it as a jumping point ti foment her misandry. I hate that bitch so much. I hate all Dems really.  Let’s try and get this board back to hating Dems if we can.  None of us are getting threesomes anymore. If you haven’t already it’s too late for all of us now.  A threesome now is running a green egg a smoker and a blackstone at the same time

@bradstevens You debating Farva on morals is like Daniel Dennett debating Girolamo Savonarola.

@bradstevens your post is just your own personal feelings.  It has no more weight than anyone else's opinion. Either embrace nihilism or admit you're agnostic.

@snarlcakes don’t care a lick about nihilism.  But you want to know what I care a ton about?  Nephilim!!!!!  Where should I begin your education.  Hmmmmmmm. Let’s start with the goat Devon larrat on the Joe Rogan podcast.  Advise when you’ve finished same.  Don’t rabbit hole anywhere near the spooky hour 🤝

My post re the morality of it?

True, to a point. But I could make a moral argument from principles, if need be.
