For those bourbon lovers out there:
- Old Bardstown Bottled-in-Bond from Kentucky’s Willett Distillery was named Best Bourbon at the 2026 International Wine and Spirits Competition after earning 98 points and a Gold Outstanding medal.
- Despite its $25 price tag, the four-year-old bourbon topped competitors costing significantly more and is made entirely by Willett using the distillery’s original 1936 mash bill.
- Old Bardstown Bottled-in-Bond is currently officially sold only in Kentucky, where Willett produces it at 100 proof from whiskey aged for at least four years.

Good Whisky is distilled in Scotland , single malt barley, peat roasted, 12 years old...
Corn squeezins don't compare.
There is a very good Irish Whisky called Slane...
Try it if you can find it...
I guess we are going to Kentucky

16. And it has to be the smoky unparalleled product of Islay.

(To be fair, the Lagavulin 12 is good, too, but it's worth the extra scratch to upgrade, no question. The 15 is also top-notch, if you can find it.)
Im never spending that much money on a bottle of liquor.Did you see this one?

Ah, bourbon boys...the vegans of alcoholics.
.
They were all Craft Beer boys just a few years ago. Hopefully they don't help destroy the bourbon industry like they did the beer industry..Ah, bourbon boys...the vegans of alcoholics.

Nothing worse than 2 or more bourbon boys at a party comparing their bourbon/cigar rooms. 🙄

That one is indeed pricey, but I have had a couple of 200 dollar shots of whiskey in my life, and I can tell you that in both those times, you can absolutely appreciate the quality of those high-end liquors. You get the flavor and the smoothness along with the warm glow feeling without the harsh kick up front as it goes down. That's special occasions though.
I typically will only drop about $100-$150 on my whiskey. And QParker and I do not agree upon much, but he is dead right about Whiskey coming from Scotland, single malt, and 12 years aged (minimum, and I usually go with the 14 more often than not).
Same thing with cigars. I've only smoked a cigar about twenty times in my life, but the difference between a $5 cigar and a $150 is night and day better. You just don't appreciate it until you've tried it.
