@carramrod Wait. You don’t know who she is? Have you ever read a book?

Do not start with the snide insults. No I’ve never heard of your stupid feminist author. Why would I?

But a google search reveals a childless, husbandless, wretch of a woman. Are these themes accurate in her books?

Core Themes
  • Violence and Cruelty: Depictions of random, systemic, or domestic brutality in modern American life.
  • Power and Vulnerability: The fragile nature of the self against dominant social, economic, or physical forces.
  • Family Dynamics: Complex, often painful ties within families, seen in works like We Were the Mulvaneys.
  • Identity and Gender: Feminist questions, female vulnerability, and the search for personal autonomy.
  • Social and Racial Tension: Direct confrontation of historical and contemporary societal injustices.

God almighty. No wonder you identify with her. You two are one and the same.

Massive victim complexes.

you want gov controlling production?  seizing private property for gov reallocation?

Hasn’t Trump essentially done some of that by taking partial ownership and equity in certain companies?

There will be nothing in history that compares to Trump’s reign when this is over

Whoa.

Yeah, that's over the top.

This entire debate is over the top, and has been for a couple of years, now. I'm just worn out with it. Is Trump an historical embarrassment? Yes. Was Biden a terrible president? Yes. Are Democrats stupidly lining up behind unpopular causes? Yes.

But Trump isn't the worst thing that ever happened in history. Biden wasn't the the worst president ever. And Democrats are not trying to destroy America. All this hyperbole is just plain stupid. Take a pill, all.

@ohio-guy a minor equity stake isn’t seizing control.  Personally I don’t like it. It plays favorites.  Buts more akin than giving out gov contracts than full public control ownership running something

we can’t give AOC mamdani etc a chance. They are the biggest internal threat to our country in what?  Ever. The civil war?

@bradstevens Has she come up in book club discussions, yet? I feel like Black Water should be in the hopper as a potential. I think I'd like to read that.

Nope. We should read her.  Maybe we invite both Zeke and CarRamRod to join?  Sounds like we could have a lively discussion.

@hooky yeah the next tribe that comes in could decide we have an agriculture crisis and confiscate all of @zeke4ahs land.  wonder how bad trump will look then.

the woke.  the academics.  they are over the top with trump.  his personality and that drives their animus because they just don't understand guys like that.  they're sheltered.  trump's fine.  just another in a long line of dog shit presidents.  biden was infinitely worse.  if trump gets us out of this inane war.  relents on the tariffs. and glides the next two years things will be okay.

i hope what we have learned from trump biden trump is that the more government does the worse off you will be.  the less gov does the better off you will be.

The Trump administration has acquired ownership interests totaling approximately $27 billion across 30 companies!

Different tools than Mamdani, Ron Paul argues, but the same principle: political decisions displacing market decisions.

"Ron Paul spent decades warning that Democrats would use government power to seize control of private industry. He is now issuing that exact warning about a Republican administration, comparing its policy to the most openly socialist figures in American politics."

Ron Paul: Trump's New Policy Is 'As Dangerous to Liberty and Prosperity' as Mamdani's - 24/7 Wall St.

C'mon, people, let's give zeke a little credit for sense. I have to believe she meant US history. (Although some comparisons to Hitlers early years could be made.)

The pedant in me must point out that it is wholly inaccurate to refer to any president's "reign."

He's filthy dirty at levels that are unprecedented in US history.  He has turned the American presidency into his personal piggy bank. And, on top of that, he's incompetent as hell. But you've got people out there and on here who tie themselves in knots trying to defend him, explain it away, argue that there will be no long-term fallout, suggest it's a nothingburger or advance absurd false equivalences.  Fortunately, they're in the minority as reflected by his in-the-toilet approval ratings.

After he drags the party down in November, some top Pubs will likely move to create separation as he immediately transitions to lame duck status and becomes increasingly irrelevant.

Don't be so sure. If he retains his popularity among the base, he can still act as kingmaker, even in an emeritus role.

@big-ryan they’re minor equity stakes. 5-10 percent. Do you understand what that means?  It’s nothing like control and ownership in socialism.

whatever Dems feed you you just bend over and insert and say not bad.  Lmao
