@cavanagh I think Alexis is capable, but I don't think he's jumping Samet as a starter short of injury. Heck it took 60% of the year last year for CDD to play him over Bailey.
If you look at per minute production, Alexis' was probably better, although it is close.

So.....Alexis better in Pts (16.4 v. 14.8); 2 pt FG% (70.9% v. 63%); FT% (72.5% v. 49.5%); Blocked shots (2.2 v. 1.8) & TOs (1.8 v. 2.4); and offense & defense efficiency #s.
Yigi better in rebs (10.6 v. 8.9), both offensively (4.9 v. 3.5) and defensively (6.0 v. 5.4)
Caveats:
--Yigi has only played 2 years of college ball, so upside may be greater
--Yigi played about 2x as many minutes per game as Alexis.
--Alexis' #s with respect to FG% and FT% far exceeded his previous %s. Is the improvement permanent?
I agree with Cavanaugh that Alexis fit very well with Sherrell in Peru.
To your point about Bailey starting over Alexis.....Devries was horrible last year.
@yothn a better scale is Tamar to Hanner. And I’d put the Turk tower around Deron Davis level. Alexis I put at the race Thompson level.
@mushroomgod for sure how Bailey saw more time than Sam last year was criminal. That’s why DD has to be a top 7/6 seed for me this year or else I’ll call for his head. I mean a 7 seed with this roster and spend is underachieving. But this is where we are with IU. A 7 seed is a hell of a season, hell making the tourney this decade is cause for a blunt.

If Samet's performance in the Canadian exhibition game is an accurate reflection of his overall game, fans are going to become frustrated with his tendency to foul, inconsistent fundamentals, inability to rebound outside his area, and turnovers. At that rate, I'd expect Sam Alexis to take over the starting spot before mid-January. I hope we can avoid the frustration and just start the 5th year senior.
