I personally would like to keep Dorn. I think he needs to take a pay cut, tho, or stay for the same money. Yes, he DID go ice-cold but he has shown the ability to find his stroke at times. What I like is his length, defense, rebounding, nose for the ball. He brings a good bit more than just shooting and with a year to improve his game, I think he could be valuable off the bench. NOW, this is where a good coach will excel, Individual Development. Does CDD have it in him??? Sounds like this Olsen dude is pretty well a one-trick pony.
Oh, darn. Adam Olsen may be his replacement? Not much difference here.
DD better be getting his players from P4 conferences, because mid-major's aren't going to cut it. Hopefully, we'll start seeing some signings soon.
If you look at their #s the year the last year as a mid-major, there's not a dime's worth of difference between Dorn & Olson. Both are worthless stiffs.
When we will soon find out if the vaunted Ryan Carr really is Mr. Moneyball or not.

5'10"....22% 3 point shooter on 41 attempts. Takes about 8x that many 2s, hits 46.5% of those. 74.6% FT shooter. Good distributor. About a 1.8 to 1 A/TO ratio. Good rebounder. Gets a good # of steals.
sounds like another Cupps/Enright type of player! Too small, probably dribbles too much, and would probably pass up good open shots and disappear against bigger/better opponents!
OT, but... Nobody is as scoreless as Enright. League of his own. Passes up wide open 7 foot bank shots. Never seen anything like it. But I saw him try, then I approved of not shooting them.sounds like another Cupps/Enright type of player! He did move the ball and play some dee.
And, I'll always have a fond memory of him draining that HUGE three against Purdue. The team was folding and Enright had some guts!
,
He started all 33 games for SH, and averaged 13 points, 5 assist, 3 rebounds and 2 steals a game, so he's no Cupps. Not exactly what everyone has in mind, but would be a nice back-up pg.....but I doubt he'd be interested in that.
Nick Dorn is entering the transfer portal (per Joe Tipton of On3...I think had it first). This is not surprising at all. Dorn is a three-point specialist that went ice cold when IU needed him most and the Hoosiers feel like they can upgrade on his scholarship spot (or just reallocate the funds he was demanding for a bit cheaper).
If IU gets Adam Olsen, he effectively replaces the shooting of Dorn while adding a bit more size and possibly upgrading as a slightly more well-rounded offensive player. I would not want both Olsen and Dorn but one of them would be good to have and I'd guess Olsen is the cheaper of the poor man's Miller Kopp and a short Reed Bailey.
It's distressing to me that we're screwing around for any reason with Olson.
Estrella is off the board

I wonder if the folks who were poo-pooing the idea of having him will change their tune now that he's going to Michigan instead.

Wasn't he our main big man target at least according to online and all Dusty had to do was probably pick up the phone once. Michigan is going to be able to get anyone they want they are the hottest team in the country. They may only need three portal guys but they will all be top 25.
@hoosiers94 I'm not jaded or bothered at all. I even wrote at the bottom of the post that you are welcome to feel how you'd like to feel, others can do the same. This discourse isn't productive for either of us so I'll leave it here: thank you for being on the site and participating on the thread, I hope you have a great day!
J.P. Estrella to Michigan. IU had Sherrell (Alabama), Fru (Louisville) and Estrella (Tennessee) rumored to be on the top line for big guys. Estrella is now off the board. Honestly, I have no idea what IU is up to right now and no one else does either. The resources are there and the only thing we know for sure is that Markus Burton is scheduled to visit campus from Sunday to Tuesday.
well, I was w you on Estrella - but he is now off the board I think IU is in trouble as far as getting pieces to improve on last yr May get a couple guards, but bigs not looking good@ge-off Rowan Brumbaugh is the name you are searching for. J.P. Estrella is a difference-maker. I don't think there's any debating that.
This is why you can’t suck in your first year- no good players want to come. The DeVries era has been a complete bust. Dusty is going to stuff IU in a locker for as long as he is at Michigan.

Names mentioned on BTBs....guards...Jalen Cox of Colgate; Ace Glass of Wash. St; Also, Christian Fermin of VCU. Not sure what he is, but not highly regarded.
Also, Darren Harris is following Burton on social media....only problem there....Darren Glass' stats are exceedingly mediocre. Do not understand TJ's affection for him.

Well, I looked at these guys. Christian Fermin is a 6 10 center. I saw IU and a bunch of other mid-majors were checking in on him. Hopefully that post was a joke.
Glass & Cox are both 6'3" guards. Glass has the flashy #s; Cox's all-around #s look good. Both would be good gets.
